On the snowiest day of the winter we gave virtual tours to 158 groups at our four sites.

A little snow in New York today. These sites are beautiful in any season. We love it!

Cold (18F) sunny day at the Smith Farm and Sacred Grove. Our senior missionaries gave virtual tours here to 800 people today.

We had a big day to close out January 2021. We gave virtual tours to 134 groups totaling 3,415 people at three of our historic sites. For the month we conducted... 529 tours to tens of thousands of people from 47 states and 43 countries. There were hundreds of seminary classes and youth groups taking tours because of the Come Follow Me curriculum. Our senior missionaries work long hours, sometimes in very cold weather to accommodate all the requests. They are amazing people and we’re honored to be serving with them! See more

The Sacred Grove in early November

September 21, 1823 197 years ago, the Angel Moroni appeared to Joseph Smith in a room full of all of his siblings. Amazingly, all of his siblings stayed asleep ...all night as Joseph and Moroni discussed the amazing work that was about to come forth. Time and time again I've thought of this miracle and I've realized the lesson we can learn from this. The Lord knows our circumstances. Joseph's circumstances didn't allow him to have alone time to have a conversation with the Angel, let alone say a vocal prayer. Because of this, the Lord provided a way to give Joseph exactly what he needed which was to talk face to face with the Angel Moroni about the Gold Plates, the Book of Mormon, and warn him about the things to come. Because of the miracles that took place all night long and continuing into the next day, Joseph was able to bring the Book of Mormon forth to bless the lives of millions and millions. The Lord KNOWS He knows. He knows exactly what we need and He makes those things possible to benefit not only us, but the lives of others as well. We might not always know why we are put in certain circumstances, but He knows, and he also knows EXACTLY what we need. I'm so thankful for the faith of Joseph Smith in pushing through hard times and for turning to the Lord in every circumstance. Because of that, I am blessed to have the Book of Mormon, recieve the blessings of baptism and the Holy Ghost, and to not only be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but also to be a missionary sharing these beautiful truths.
