A number of factors contribute to the ESD problem, but the main cause is faulty wiring that causes electric current to leak into the water. ESD can occur in swimming pools, hot tubs and spas, on board boats and in the waters surrounding boats, marinas and launch ramps." - NFPA. Lanett High School athletic fieldhouse may be ‘total loss’ after early morning fire. Story said the fire broke out sometime between 7:15 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on Monday at the school’s fieldhouse. There were no injuries, but Story believes the building could be a total loss. I really don’t know, Story told AL.com. The insurance guy is taking photos now. To me, it looks like a total loss. That’s to coach Story. When you are dealing with children, I’m not real comfortable putting them in unstable situations or putting something back on their heads that might not be safe. We’ll have to see. https://www.al.com//lanett-high-school-athletic-fieldhouse

FDNY Firefighter Injured in Fire Sues Building Owner. Richard said the electricity wasn’t working properly for a while. After repeated requests, the management office finally sent someone to make repairs on Sept. 11, she said. According to the FDNY’s Twitter feed, fire marshals determined the cause of the blaze was electrical. Long had identified the cause as faulty wiring.... The complaint alleges Gill’s injuries were caused by the defendants’ negligence, carelessness and recklessness in the ownership, operation and management of the building. The defendants failed to comply with various statutes, including sections of the city and state fire codes, as well as provisions of the city Administrative and Building Codes and the Multiple Dwelling Law, alleges the complaint. Those statutes refer, in part, to general safety requirements in buildings, exit-passageway requirements, dangerous structures and owner’s responsibilities. https://www.firefighternation.com//fdny-firefighter-inju/
