Salemny Memorial and Veterans Park

Happy to say that the next installment of Memorial pavers has now been laid and the Park looks wonderful! With cold weather finally behind us, the committee was finally able to meet again in person - Al Cornier, Judy Flag, Megon Aesch, Meg Southerland, Donna Andersen, Ed Phillips and Laura Dunham enjoyed the beautiful sunshine while discussing the garden design, options for protecting the trees and pathway design. Lots of activity coming up this summer! - stay tuned!

Honoring Veterans today with a beautiful ceremony at the Salem Memorial and Veterans Park! Supervisor Sue Clary welcome everyone and thanked those who donated and contributed to the project. Meg Aesch and Ed Phillips for the beautiful granite benches and for encouraging us all to take up the project again! The extraordinarily generous Anonymous Donor who funded the installation stating "it wasn't done for the recognition, it was done to honor Salem, Family and the School". An...d the generous Anonymous Donor who paid for the flagpole and flag as a gift to the Salem community. Also thanking the Beecrafts for donating 275 blank pavers which will be replaced with printed pavers as they’re sold. And Committee Members: Laura Dunham, Meg Aesch, Ed Philips, Al Cormier, Judy Flagg, Meg Southerland, Donna Orlyk, Nancy Hand Higby, Heather Bellanca. Special thanks also to those who have already purchased Memorial Pavers in Honor or Memory of a loved one. These will help fund and continue the work of our next phase: landscaping and parking area planters which begin in 2021. A larger celebration is being planned for Summer 2021.
