Yesterday was our 13th week straight of collaborating with State Senator Jessica Ramos & Hispanic Federation supporting street vendors to provide hot meals to t...heir neighbors, as we continue to struggle to recover from COVID-19's economic impact on our communities. Thank you to the vendors who made this week's meals! Sammy's Halal Food on 74th & Broadway was started Samiul Noor, who started his first food cart in 2002, incorporating local community culture and customs into inspired Halal dishes. Wilson Ochoa is a street vendor for over 12 years, selling Colombia Ice Creams on Junction Blvd and Roosevelt Ave. He had to stop working due to his age, and was not eligible for any type of government support, and has fallen 4 months behind on rent.
