It is with heavy hearts that we announce; Sam’s Restaurant has closed its doors. After 50 years of serving first slices then serving dishes then drinks to our loyal, endearing customers, we have decided to close. We did our best to stick it to covid and stand to our values, but the ever-rising prices of foodstuffs and the depleted work force, amongst other issues have forced our hands. We would like to thank all of our patrons from over the years. You’ve become more than jus...t customers or ‘regulars’ and were a large part of our lives. Some of you have been eating our food since before we were a restaurant and were slinging slices to the neighborhood. Others had their first date at Sam’s. Still more were born and raised on Sam’s food, eating it as far back as they can remember. We thank all of you. For three generations the Rappoccio family, helped by a group of some of the most dedicated employees (most being with us 10+ years, some since the beginning) have spent a great deal of their lives serving our community some of the finest Italian food in the capital district. We have been taking steps to ensure everyones safety, which included a bunch of renovations, so sorry for the wait! But we are working, and we are getting close! Hello everyone! Hope you all are doing good and staying healthy. An update: We are reopening soon! Currently we are taking steps to ensure you all have a safe place to come enjoy your chicken and eggplant parmesan. Once we finish some crucial steps we will begin the reopening process making sure to keep everyone safe, customers and employees alike. Safety and cleanliness have always been too priorities and will be kept that way. Stay posted for our official opening date!

We didn't save all our tickets but holy cow! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You guys are amazing!!!!! We are so happy with how many of you showed up and got food to go. I hope those of you who got quarts of sauce enjoy your fresh pasta and Sam's sauce during this BRIEF vacation. Dear valued friends, we are devastated to inform you that starting tomorrow, Sam's will be closed due to the Covid 19 pandemic. WE WILL REOPEN when this is all through. Before we say so long for now, we would love to see you all today, Saturday, April 18 for your last chicken marsala, parm, or Cacciatore. For your eggplant or meatballs. For your braciole, veal and peppers. We appreciate you all so very much, and couldn't have gotten this far without all of the love and suppor...t that you've shown us.
