Did you know, the CARES Act of 2020 added a new $300 above the line deduction even if you don't itemize? Consider supporting a local non-profit org in your community! Visit SandLakeAmbulance.org to make an online donation, or you can mail a check to SLA: Annual Fund Drive, PO Box 222, W. Sand Lake NY 12205. Thanks to Bob Stackrow for spearheading this fundraiser for #GivingTuesday as Facebook matches donations. 2020 also brings a special $300 above the line deduction for those who don’t itemize deductions. We are thankful for the continued support of your town’s paramedic ambulance service.
This afternoon, the Albany Police Department joined other law enforcement agencies from around the Capital Region to honor Troy NY PBA Sergeant Randall Randy ...French who lost his life yesterday following a courageous battle with COVID-19. Hundreds of police officers gathered to salute Sergeant French and give support the Troy PD. Please take a moment to remember Sergeant French, his loved ones and the law enforcement community during this difficult time.
big thanks to Quick Response for decontaminating our off duty ambulance today up at their site in Round Lake
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. This is a crisis for not only hospitals, it’s a crisis for the often forgotten EMS providers on the front lines. W...ho, during normal circumstances, are not thought of as essential services except in times of crisis. You've heard mention in speeches of doctors, nurses, firemen, police but rarely EMS or EMTs & Paramedics who, under normal circumstances, are working in resource depleted systems. There is a difference and we must all help educate our elected officials. Paramedics are trained to operate ventilators, administer medications, perform cardioversion, and intubate sick people without any direct physician orders, yet not allowed to work inside of a hospital in NY? Look at providers in NYC, not only are dealing with massive pay inequities, also they’re running out of PPE. Canaries in the coal mine for sure. Please urge elected officials to use the correct language, invest in a strong EMS system in your community, and help support our EMS professionals as they have supported the public for decades without recognition, funding, or support. Mayor Bill de Blasio #TheWorkIsDifferent Governor Andrew Cuomo: Keep up the great work! Senator Chuck Schumer U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians National Association of EMS Physicians (NAEMSP)
