What teas are y’all sippin on this week? Our tea of the week is Red Raspberry Leaf . . . Red Raspberry leaf is an herb most commonly used during labor to improve the effectiveness of the uterus. In addition, it may alleviate pain associated with labor and menstrual cramps. It can also be used as an uterine tonic which improves pelvic and uterine circulation. Although this botanical is often mistakenly recommended to induce labor, its actual role is to increase blood flow t...o the uterus and aid the uterine muscle fibers in more organized contraction. Red raspberry leaf is also consumed for nutritional support because it contains many nutrients, including vitamins A, C, and E, calcium, iron, and potassium. Learn more about teas that have been traditionally used for reproductive health during our What’s the Tea? IG live this Wednesday 12pm-1pm

#throwbackthursday Last week our Sankofa Interns took the initiative to stop by Fire Station Eight while on their break. They were able to meet Carissa Jones, the ONLY Black Woman who works at that station. Firefighter Jones shared with the Interns stories of her experience and was also able to answer all of their questions. We are so grateful for Carissa Jones and the work that Fire Station Eight does for our local community. Thank you Carissa for your hard work, dedication, and representation. #Firestation8 #Syracuse #CNY #Southside #blackfirefighters #womenfirefighters #representationmatters
