Depending on how you spell it this sandwich is either spicy or much despised. It is delicious. Deviled Ham Salad. It's spicy and loved by me. Come. Eat.

Fathers Day Brunch. Celebrating our favorite dads. For my dad there is Kielbasa and Eggs. For John there is a ham and scalloped potato omelet. Our most loyal Brunch dad, Al, would expect 3 Berry Flapjacks, but instead it's a spicy Hawaiian Breakfast Pizza with ham, pineapple, mozz and green and jalapeño peppers topped with two up eggs. For Frank there are blueberry Flaps with no BS!! Everyone else can get three Berry Flaps. For Erik there is stellar fruit salad. Sorry he's so far away. Happy Father's Day.

A big old basket of flatbreads. Want a pizza? Maybe a Marguerita with fresh mozz, tomato and basil. Or saucy with three cheeses. How about spinach, bacon, mushrooms and over easy eggs. Or a pita wrapped sandwich. Or buy one and make your own. Come. Eat.

A rare photo for a brunch post. The last of the local asparagus roasted with some spring onions served with a smear of romesco and a soft cooked egg for dipping. Classic tapas dish for the best seamstress I ever met. She was Spanish (she worked for Ballenciaga!) and a teacher at FIT when I was there. It's National Sewing Machine Day. I've decided to honor the people in front of the machines, rather than behind them. There's Minestra Poached Eggs for Francine. Red Flannel Hash for Doreen. Kielbasa and Eggs for Sylvia and Shrimp Egg Foo Yung for the egg rolls eaten at our costume making meetings back in High school that went all night. There may be more but you will have to come and see for yourself. 9-12 only.

Fresh local Bok Choy Salad with cashews, ginger and hot peppers in a soy based dressing. Top it with chicken or shrimp. Soups are Chicken Noodle or Fresh Corn Chowder.

Spring Salad. Asparagus, peas, radish with herbs and lemon. All local greens and more to come. What a beautiful day in the ADK. Contemplating a Tomato Basil salad since I have some great tasting plum tomatoes, fresh local spring onions and Basil. All over fresh local greens. Did I mention it's my CSA Day. Join us. Stop in and I'll tell you how. Channeling a certain Rebecca: House Corned Beef grilled and pressed on our Potato Dill bread with slaw and Swiss and an avocado Russian dressing. It's the bomb. Come. Eat

It's our seventh annual D-Day brunch. Remembering with Frank. Our friend Frank DeVita was just 18 and responsible for operating the ramp on a Higgins boat 77 years ago today. He's visited many times and has gone to John's Uncles grave several times while there. So for Frank and his Italian heritage we have Porchetta and Eggs: cubes of roasted pork seasoned with garlic, citrus and fennel, browned and crisped and served with eggs any style and toast. For the British allies we have Bangers and Smash: special Paysanne with sausage and peas. For the French: an Asparagus and gruyere frittata. For us Yanks: good old fashioned bacon egg and cheese, that's right, American cheese on what else but Sourdough. Come. Eat. 9-12.

Close up, Mr. DeMille. The filling for our "Messy Guiseppi". You know, Italian Sloppy Joe's. Sliders. Fresh Italian rolls, in the oven as I post. Split and filled with provolone and mozzarella and then a scoop of this meat sauce. One two or three. Bridge Club Quiche is spinach, bacon and Brie. It's all good. Come. Eat.

A blurry photo of....of.....(wait for it)...POTATO SALAD. Yes. I finally made some potato salad. It has been months. I guess it really is summer. Not that 39' and cloudy is a giveaway. Soups are Vegetarian Vegetable, Beef Barley, Creamy Asparagus and, of course, Chicken Noodle. I'm prepped and ready for the weekend. I hope. Chicken salads, all our house roasted meats, other salads. Come. Eat. Spoiler alert. We will be closed this Monday and Tuesday. Our daughter is coming on Sunday and it's been a year since we have seen each other so we will be home together. Thanks!!

We have decided that even though the Canadians can't get here, it's still Victoria Day in our house. Firecracker Day steak and eggs with fire grilled sirloin, sliced and sautéed with onions, mushrooms and fresh jalapeños, served with eggs any style, home fries and toast. For crying out loud, let me know if you need ketchup when you order. My feet hurt. There will be fresh Strawberry Rhubarb sauce for Flapjacks with house whipped cream. Three cheers for the red and white! I gu...ess a Victorian sponge is in order. By that I mean French Toast with maple syrup of course. Special Egg Sandwich has homemade Canadian bacon, eggs and Cheddar. "Fete de la Reine" completed by a Croque Miami. Pressed Miami Panini topped by two over easy eggs. Of course there were no Canadians in Miami this year but that is still a perfect start for "Cottage season". Soon I hope. Sticking with the program. 9-12. Breakfast only. Closed Monday. The new normal. And we are sticking with it. Love. See more
