We recently learned that a non-public link dedicated to scheduling individuals for their second dose of vaccine was circulated to the public by individuals from outside of Saratoga County Public Health Services (SCPHS). Unvaccinated individuals who obtained the link through means other than SCPHS and made an appointment will be contacted, and their appointments cancelled. We simply do not have vaccines for them. We continue to urge the public to be wary of scheduling links ...that come via unofficial channels. Official information on SPCHS-operated vaccination clinics is posted on our website: https://www.saratogacountyny.gov/.../vaccination-locations/. We continue to work with New York State to call for an increased supply of vaccine from the federal government. When supply increases, we are ready to get shots into arms, in accordance with the State's distribution plan. Until then, patience is difficult but required. Please continue to wear a mask, socially distance and stop the spread. See more

Saratoga County to Join National COVID-19 Memorial Tribute County to leave the lights on January 19, 2021 SARATOGA COUNTY, NY Saratoga County announced today that it will be joining the Presidential Inaugural Committee’s (PIC) National COVID-19 Memorial Tribute by lighting all County Buildings at the Main County Complex on Tuesday January 19, starting at 5:30 p.m. for the entire night.... The County is participating in this event from an invitation sent by the National Association of Counties (NACo), of which Saratoga County is a member. The PIC COVID-19 Memorial event is an opportunity to honor community members who have been lost to COVID-19 and to highlight the role that counties have played in public service during this health and economic crisis. Memorializing those who have lost their lives to COVID-19 has been identified as a goal of Theodore Kusnierz, Chairman of the County Board of Supervisors. During my remarks at our Board’s organizational meeting, I made it a point to seek a permanent county memorial to recognize those who have succumbed to COVID-19. This National tribute is a great first step in memorializing family, friends and neighbors who, sadly, have been lost to the virus during this global pandemic, said Kusnierz. I asked our Buildings staff if this is something we could do, and they indicated that the County Complex can be lit up for the entire night and that the staff would ensure that happens. It is a very fitting tribute to all those lost from the County due to COVID-19, said Matthew Veitch, Chairman of the Buildings & Grounds Committee, who received the invitation from NACo and proposed that Saratoga County join the effort. Saratoga County remains dedicated to protecting its residents and ending the COVID-19 crisis in the region. For Immediate Release Date: November 20, 2020 Contact Information: Wes Carr, STOP DWI Coordinator ... Phone Numbers: 518-884-4180 Saratoga County to Participate in Statewide STOP-DWI Thanksgiving Crackdown Enforcement Effort Impaired Driving Crackdown runs Wednesday, November 25 Sunday, November 29 Saratoga County Board of Supervisors Chairman Preston Allen announced today that the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department and other police agencies will participate in a special enforcement effort to crackdown on impaired driving. This Thanksgiving weekend, millions will hit the roads eager to spend time with family and friends. It’s one of the busiest travel times of the year, and unfortunately more people on the roadways means the potential for more vehicle crashes. In a combined effort to stop impaired driving, prevent injuries and save lives, law enforcement officers across New York State will take to the roads. The statewide STOP-DWI Crackdown efforts start on Wednesday, November 25 and will end on Sunday, November 29. Research shows that high-visibility enforcement can reduce impaired driving fatalities by as much as 20 percent. Sobriety checkpoints play a key part in raising awareness about the problem. New York State Police, County Sheriff and municipal law enforcement agencies across the state will be out in force. The STOP-DWI Thanksgiving Weekend Crackdown is one of many statewide enforcement initiatives promoted by STOP-DWI NY and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee. Throughout the remainder of the year the Statewide STOP-DWI Crackdown Campaign will also target the national Holiday Season in December. While STOP-DWI efforts across New York have led to significant reductions in the numbers of alcohol and drug related fatalities, still too many lives are being lost because of crashes caused by drunk or impaired drivers. Highly visible, highly publicized efforts like the STOP-DWI Crackdown Campaign aim to further reduce the incidence of drunk and impaired driving.
