SARATOGA UNITES FOR AMERICA POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE is pleased to endorse: TEDRA COBB to be the 21st District Congressional Representative.... Tedra has lived over 30 years in Northern New York where she has devoted years working to improve access to health care services. Tedra is a former St. Lawrence County Legislator who worked hard to lower prescription drug costs and improve local government transparency for constituents. Tedra supports a clean environment and will work hard to reverse the devastating effects of climate change. She supports health care for all, full women’s health care including reproductive rights, full LGBTQ human rights, immigration reform, funding for Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid, creation of thousands of new jobs in the north district, lowering of prescription drug prices, veteran services, strong education from cradle to career, and building a strong economy which supports the middle class. We strongly encourage your vote for Tedra. Remember, vote early and if you vote by mail, make sure you follow all of the ballot instructions carefully. Lois Shapiro Canter, JD President, Saratoga Unites for America Political Action Committee, Inc.

Here's some key information: *On or about June 1-2, you will receive your ballot in the mail *Complete your ballot and mail back immediately! The LWV will be doing a candidate forum on June 1 at 7pm. The candidates are (and I believe at this point each candidate has at least a facebook page up and running): Anjeanette Emeka (current school board member) Casey Putnam Tony Krackeler Scott Jackson Matthew Taylor Erika Borman Marissa Altimar It is going to be vital to elect strong trustees that will help in navigating the new challenges - expanded distance learning, managing services within a strained budget, and creative engagement to ensure our students thrive. *Saratoga Springs Library Budget: visit sspl.org for more information. It's a quick election season, and it's as always very important to participate and encourage others to vote as well. Please share the word, we'll share any additional information if we get it!
From Saratoga Springs Supervisor Tara Gaston, regarding the update on allowing absentee voting during the pandemic: Please see the language of the Governor’s executive order 202.15, linked to below. Barring any further action by the Governor and/or legislature, this is what the BOE would be following. << Section 8-400 of the Election Law is temporarily suspended and hereby modified to provide that due to the prevalence and community spread of COVID-19, an absentee ballot can... be granted based on temporary illness and shall include the potential for contraction of the COVID-19 virus for any election held on or before June 23, 2020. Solely for any election held on or before June 23, 2020, Section 8-400 of the Election Law is hereby modified to allow for electronic application, with no requirement for in-person signature or appearance to be able to access an absentee ballot.
