Thank you to Health and Sharsheret clubs for a wonderful Pink Day! All proceeds will benefit Sharsheret.

10th graders in the Design Engineering class used Javascript and processing.js to generate parametric designs for wooden spoons made from 1/4 inch Poplar. The code allows for the design to be laser cut and engraved according to precise numeric specifications.

Week 2 of Fall Athletics featured the kickoff our our Girls Volleyball program. #LetsGoSting

The Business Club was founded last year by current seniors Isaac O, Sam M, and Henry M. The objective of the club is to enhance students’ knowledge of the business world by exposing them to various career paths. Last evening, they hosted Ms. Aliza Herzberg, an employment lawyer who manages her own firm. She explained what types of cases she traditionally takes on and gave two example simulations. Club members were encouraged to ask questions and try to stump the lawyer. The session was a tremendous opportunity to learn more about someone who is both involved in the legal field and responsible for managing a business.

Today both the Sharsheret and Health Clubs commemorated breast cancer awareness month by hearing from beloved SAR Academy teacher Lauryn Weiser. Lauryn shared her personal journey as a breast cancer survivor as well as her involvement in starting the Sharsheret organization. We feel lucky and blessed that Lauryn shared her story! Looking forward to this Wednesday’s fundraiser for Sharsheret outside during each lunch period!

Clubs keep on rolling! Today was week 6 of activity period, when 13 clubs met including Animation, Chai Lifeline, Environmental and Engineering!

Today was not your typical lunch period for sophomores. 10th graders ate lunch together on the field and then learned different methods for tie dying face coverings before tie dying their own!

We were so happy to welcome our grandparents for our High School Grandparent Town Hall Meeting today. They got a tour of the building and our COVID preparedness! They also got to hear how our Chesed programming continues to be strong through Covid! To make sure you receive future communications about Grandparent programming please email [email protected]

Today our Fall Athletics program kicked off with boys and girls basketball! Each grade met separately with our coaches for socially distanced, masked practices which focused on skill development. It was so great to see sports back in the Hive! Next week Girls Volleyball begins! #LetsGoSting
