COVID-19 Response Panel: Novel Approaches Presented by Stony Brook University School of Nursing Wednesday, January 27, 2021 4 5 pm... Lewis, MSN, CNM, NPD-BC Director of Education/Maternal Child Nurse Educator Southside Hospital Northwell Health Suzie Marriott, MS, RN, PMH-BC Associate Director of Nursing, Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, Stony Brook University Hospital COVID-19 placed unprecedented demands on healthcare systems across the country. Nurses were called to care for critically ill patients in numbers never imagined. Three nurse leaders responded by developing novel approaches to care for patients and their coworkers. Hear about their initiatives: ‘the face behind the mask’, ‘gentle hands team’ and ‘caring for the emotional needs of coworkers’ as they cared for countless patients and coworkers during this nationwide disaster.
