Here's what happened during our first Astro-stargazing night for the 2017 fall semester. We had so much fun observing autumn night sky. We were able to see Saturn, the Andromeda galaxy, an open cluster. We were also able to see some fall constellations as well. If you missed our first event worry not for we will have another event coming up on November 16th where we will have a speech held by Professor Pappas about the Leonid meteor shower, so be sure to join us. The event will be held from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm in front of the Smithtown Science Building. We will continue to keep you updated about our next event.

I'm extremely happy and proud to share that my SCCC Astronomy Club, today officially became a member of NASA NIGHT SKY NETWORK. The network will be a great opportunity to me and my current club members where we will get a training for bringing astronomy to the public and get to talk to NASA Astronomers and Scientists live stream and many more. With the help of Network we will be hosting big Astronomy events in near future. As I will be graduating end of this academic year, I...'m stepping back and let our current club President Lakshya Kathuria to be in charge as the Night Sky Network Coordinator along with our club advisor Prof.Pappas. Just wanna say that I'm really happy and proud of this accomplishment. Especially because this is a huge step for our club. All my year long hard work is finally paid off. But this accomplishment is not my own, I want to take a moment to thank our club advisor, Prof.Matthew Pappas for being there for us everyday. Without his guide and direction, I'm pretty sure we won't able to get where we are now. And of course my soul sister and my bestie who was always there for me, Brittney Herold our club founder and first President, I can't thank you enough for building SCCC Astronomy club in the first place and bringing the best to it. As Prof.Pappas said, you are truly an energy ballI love you so much and miss you everyday. Keep shinning my love Soon, I will upload the link to access to our club through the NASA night sky network. Stay tune for our upcoming events as well. Thank you for the love and support. Keep reaching to stars Best Regards, Malmi Kiriwandalage, (Former President of SCCC Astronomy Club).

Hello Everyone How are you all doing . I hope you all had a nice weekend. Just want to give you guys heads up about Wednesday club meeting. This week we will be meeting on Room 201 at 11:00 AM to 12:15 PM in the Smithtown Science building. Unfortunately, new elected officers will not be attending the meeting because due to the required Officer Advisor meeting at that time. However we will still be attending the planetarium and there will be lunch served as well. So I hope... to see you attend the meeting, and to also bring friends along with you as well.
