There are 36 new cases to report since our update Friday morning: 24 on Friday, 6 on Saturday, and 6 on Sunday. Twenty-four of the cases had known contact with ...someone who tested positive. As an update on COVID-19 vaccine availability, New York State announced individuals in Phase 1B can begin being scheduled for vaccination starting today. However, we are waiting on confirmation from NYS regarding how many doses of vaccine they will be sending to our County this week. As we approach what is traditionally one of the most social times of the year, please strongly consider postponing gatherings and celebrations. While as a nation, we are on the verge of offering mass vaccinations and will hopefully have this pandemic controlled in the next six months, we cannot continue the trend we are on while we wait for the cure. To help mitigate these numbers, please: Continue to wear face coverings Assume anyone that is not a member of your household i...s infected and take protective action as such Don't patronize any business that does not rigidly adhere to the PAUSE guidelines enacted in NYS. While this may seem draconian to some, please consider that since Thanksgiving, we have experienced an increase of 165 positive cases , five of whom passed away. This is in less than 4 weeks.
