BIPOC Support Group ZOOM: Sunday, July 11, 2021; 4 p.m. Eastern Time Please join the Scleroderma Foundation BIPOC Support Group when guest speaker Susan Nyanzi, Dr.P.H., M.C.H.E.S., A.C.S.M., F.R.S.P.H., will discuss nutritional tips and strategies for individuals living with scleroderma. Dr. Nyanzi graduated from Loma Linda University School of Public Health with a Doctorate in Public Health with a sub-specialty in chronic disease management. As a public health professional,... Dr. Nyanzi specializes in integrated lifestyle counseling for the prevention and management of chronic degenerative disorders such as scleroderma, diabetes, heart disease and rheumatoid arthritis. She additionally consults with individuals who have scleroderma on how to best manage their disease through nutrition and physical activity. As a person with scleroderma, Dr. Nyanzi is board member of the Foundation's Southern California Chapter. On the occasion of World Scleroderma Day, June 29, the Scleroderma Foundation announces an increase of its peer-reviewed scientific research funding to $2.723 m...illion annually, more than doubling its commitment. The funding increase includes specific requests for proposals in two key areas: #scleroderma-related lung disease research and pediatric scleroderma. Effective for the 2022 grant funding cycle, the deadline for proposals is extended to September 30, 2021. Learn more at scleroderma.org/researchapply. See more

Bruce Cowan, Executive Director, is retiring effective July 30. Candice Snider, current Fundraising, Manager will step up to the role and responsibilities of ED. April Roberts, our Office Administrator, has taken on additional duties working with our support group leaders. Joining our team as Fundraising and Social Media Manager is Alexis Sorbello. We are proud to serve our scleroderma community and are grateful of their efforts to work with us in fulfilling our mission.
