Thanks to Some Good News, Direct Relief, The Starbucks Foundation & 5th Element, we've received a generous donation of PPE that will directly benefit our #HomeCareHeroes and our clients, the older adults, including Holocaust survivors, they work with. We're so grateful for this impactful donation!
Our client Isaac survived the Holocaust in Ukraine and went on to lead a life in America focused on helping others. 'I knew how to offer help, but I never thought I would be the one who needed it,' Isaac, now 94, notes. 'Especially during a pandemic.' When Isaac became ill with #COVID19 in April, he turned to Selfhelp. 'I’m very touched by the help during this difficult time,' Isaac says." Thank you to UJA-Federation of New York for spotlighting Isaac's story. Read more:... https://www.ujafedny.org//at-94-holocaust-survivor-faced-/ See more

We're grateful for Claims Conference (Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany) and all the survivors they worked with to make #NoDenyingIt happen, and bring about REAL change. Holocaust denial is unacceptable. Facebook's ban is a stand against hate speech. In the face of Holocaust denial, we must always take a stand. #WeRemember.
Pictured here, Selfhelp resident Tom talking to his building's social worker - from before COVID-19. Tom is a valued Selfhelp resident, as all residents of our affordable housing buildings are! Thank you for being an outstanding member of our community, Tom.
