Just in case y’all were wondering what my full moon Mugwort harvest yesterday eve might be transformed into: meet the potent Mugwort Soul Salve. Most aromatherapists agree that Mugwort's pure, distilled Essential Oil is not safe for topical use. Though, in Alchemy, the oil of a plant is known as its Soul: when we inhale the aroma of a medicinal herb, we're invited into a deep, intimate connection with a plant & their healing power. So, with this Salve, my intention wa...s to make the most fragrant Mugwort Salve possible without using any Essential Oil. To do this, I use a base of my potent Mugwort Soul Oil an extra-strength herbal oil created with a unique method of extraction. However, in knowing that I needed to dilute the oil with beeswax to make a salve, I double-infused the oil to make it even *more* potent. This leaves us with an incredibly fragrant, deep dark green Mugwort Salve. The Mugwort Salve of your dreams. / / Who is Mugwort ? \ \ Mugwort (artemisia vulgaris) grows in wild places all around us- from roadside to forest's edge. Perhaps you've seen this plant, but it’s gone unnoticed. So, Mugwort shows us how magic hides in the folds of the familiar. This herb’s oil enables our dreams- a usual, nightly occurrence- to appear more vividly, in color and in memory. Thus we begin to acknowledge the power of our dreams & integrate them in the work of healing ourselves and aligning with our true potential. Many people have strong experiences of increased psychic awareness & powerful visioning with this plant. It depends on your sensitivity, so if intuitive insights don't arise right away, you need not be disheartened. Continue to work with Mugwort invite this ally into conversation & ask they illuminate what you need to see. This plant, so dear to me, also works wonderfully at moving stagnant energy in the body. Indeed, that's how Mugwort works so well as a dream herb by moving any stuck energy and bringing it to the surface via dream. So, apply this salve anywhere that you might need flow those places that feels stagnant and dense physically or energetically. .:. {just restocked in the shop / link in bio} See more

full crucible moon Burn away all that which is inessential. My heart has been repeating this phrase for a month now. Personally, I am in a phase of transition and metamorphosis; and the Earth’s turning reflects this back to me. It is the season for letting go: summer has ended; and tonight, our first autumnal Full Moon creates a crucible for us to transmute. Burn away all that which is inessential. To do this, we must first seek into our depths to know our truest ...essence. That which is inessential is that which no longer aligns with the essence of who we are or our mission in this life. Perhaps, certain patterns, people, and objects once served us on our path. But this is a time of reassessment. What do you throw into your crucible and place into the flames? In this act of letting go, we make space. What will be birthed from the ashes? Maybe now we do not know, but courageously, we can settle into the trust of what’s to come. .:. .:. .:. words from my newsletter going out tonight, announcing a shop update and other news (link in bio to sign up). photo from full moon mugwort harvest this evening. artemisia reminds me to cut what binds me and break free. One of the most calming and powerful actions you can do to intervene in a stormy world is to stand up and show your soul. Soul on deck shines like gold in dark times. The light of the soul throws sparks, can send up flares, builds signal fires, causes proper matters to catch fire. To display the lantern of soul in shadowy times like these to be fierce and to show mercy toward others; both are acts of immense bravery and greatest necessity. Struggling souls catch light fr...om other souls who are fully lit and willing to show it. - Clarissa Pinkola Estés .:. the hag’s taper the stroke of my skin evokes a softness that only comes... through weathering i am the hægtesse whose spine bends to weave the weft between realms elder of the crow’s nest standing erect in shamelessness feeding the honeybees whose wax makes me a taper to guide the way through the dancing shadows: social unrest & dissaray i cackle in the flickering light, singing with a tongue that’s become sharp with age for i have witnessed storm and sorrow and i cannot say that what’s holy and good will always prevail on the morrow we must spit our truth with venom from the snake resting in the depths of the earth we defend with fire on our breath we uphold the old language: casting ancient spells in rhythmic cadence, so we- the dispossessed- may rise again See more

enchantée my name’s jordann lea funk, which can etymologically be read as: a spark that descends into the meadow as i seek to introduce myself here, i am being drawn to my roots. most of my ancestors moved to this land before the revolutionary war, settling and staying in pennsylvania ever since. we are known as the pennsylvania dutch most of whom emigrated from germany as we were persecuted by the holy roman empire for our religious beliefs.... i was raised in appalachia; in the southwestern corner of PA tucked between west virginia and ohio. my ancestors have been farmers and coal miners working the land however it pays. i’m an identical twin. my sister and i grew up playing in the ash dumps, in the crick, mud fighting, catching lightning bugs, getting caught in the jaggers as we picked bowls full of black raspberries in early july. despite my homeland being ravaged by the fossil fuel industry, i’ve always loved it. though i do live in new york now, i don’t think i can ever inhabit a place outside of the appalachian bioregion. these forests are in my bones. i am a queer ecosexual. moss holds the key to turn me on. i’m strikingly aquarian (sun, venus, mercury, & saturn), and i love diving deep into intellectual pursuits, conversations, and water je parle français parce que j’habitais en belgique quand j’avais seize ans comme étudiant d’échange. i work with plants, words, and melodies. i’ve had several young people ask me if i’m a witch over the years (alongside an apology from their parents), so i’ve come to embrace it as a way to describe myself. i deeply honor wisdom. poetry electrifies me. the earth plays songs in my head. all the world is alive. sharing knowledge is part of my life’s work, and it’s incredibly natural for me to do. so, feel free to comment and ask me anything that sparks your interest! and thank you for being here with me on this journey i look forward to deepening our relationship through this mycelial, digital web. this photo captures my embodiment of a dear plant ally: mugwort, artemisia vulgaris. this true nature was artfully revealed by my dear aquarian sister @kaitlyncreatrix
