A review from a patron at last night’s show: The songs of Brett Kristofferson are diverse in their styles - funny, poignant, powerful, or sad. The one thing they have in common is that they are all incredible pieces of music and storytelling. The cast brings it big time and I promise you won't be disappointed. Thank you Jeffrey M. Wright!... Final performance of This Very Moment is tonight at 8pm! thisverymomentstl.eventbrite.com

Meet Tia Spencer! This lady is global y’all! In between getting her Bachelors of Music at Missouri Baptist U and becoming the Director of Music and Theatre at Notre Dame High School, she spent 2 years living in England! So cool! When asking Tia what her favorite song from the show is she said, I really love "My Favorite Person" because Scott sings and performs it so beautifully and Brett's music and lyrics are really striking. The vulnerability and sincerity of this man -... simply expressing to his best friend how much he values their friendship... it's refreshing and beautiful. It's a conversation starter. And after you come spend your Friday and Saturday with us, I promise Tia will become your favorite person! Join us THIS WEEKEND!!! https://www.eventbrite.com/o/stomping-ground-theatre-co-184

Meet Scott Koonce Not only has Scott just finished directing Next Fall for SGT, but he’s also an original New York cast member of This Very Moment! So cool! A few of Scott’s favorite roles include Curly (Oklahoma!) and Seymour (Little Shop of Horrors). Scott said he couldn’t understand how people could choose their favorite song, because his changes everyday! He said today’s favorite is Joey Runs. We all have set goals or changes in our lives that we struggle to make. Som...etimes the struggle is caused by outside factors and sometimes by inner turmoil. Like Joey I tend to keep those feelings inside. Every time I hear this song I feel all of those struggles and emotions at once and it reminds me that everyone faces these challenges and to keep reaching for the goal! The day is almost here y’all! Please join us THIS WEEKEND! August 2nd and 3rd! https://www.eventbrite.com/o/stomping-ground-theatre-co-184

Meet Angela Shultz! Most of you may recognize Angela as she is the co-founder of Stomping Ground Theatre! New York is missing this MAC Award winner terribly while she is pursuing an MFA in Directing at University of Memphis, but we are so happy she is spreading her talents across the U.S.! Angela had a hard time picking her favorite song as there are so many gems. (Agreed!) She did finally make a choose saying, "Things That Haunt Me is so expertly written. I don’t have to d...o anything to access the emotion in the song, because it’s already filled with humor, sadness and longing. Every time I revisit the song, I discover more nuance in the text and music. It’s no surprise Brett won a MAC Award for this perfect little gem." The challenges Billy and Joe face: economic depression, substance abuse, crushing self-doubt and recovery are universal. Meet G. Preston Wilson, Jr.! We are so FREAKIN' lucky to have this man working with us! He's been all over the place pursuing his dreams! From growing up in North Carolina, he went on to Tennessee to receive his BS in Music Education from Fisk University, that led him to Ohio where he got a Master of Music degree, and now he's come to Missouri to take a break and get his PhD. No biggie. When asked what his favorite song was, he chose Closer. He says, "It reminds me that as ...I pursue my goals, even in my lowest state I’m closer to obtaining that goal than the day before. It also is a reminder to me to be patient and allow myself time: to not rush the process. The song gives me hopethat not only will I achieve my goal, but the outcome will be even better than I imagined." And with so much accomplished already, we can't wait to see what you do next! Join us August 2nd and 3rd! https://ThisVeryMomentSTL.eventbrite.com

Not only does she hold a PhD in Theatre from Mizzou, where she is the Director of Undergraduate Studies, she is also Director of the Larry D. Clark Summer Repertory Theatre. Joy had a hard time choosing just one favorite song saying, "I have many favorite songs, like, all of them." But if she had to choose one.Yes, Joy. Just one. She says, "Six People Gazing at the Sky. The way that Brett has crafted the lyrics, chord progressions and piano arrangement makes your feel like you're watching the Northern Lights. It is magical and stunning and a I am humbled and incredibly grateful to get to sing it with these amazing humans." And she knows what she's talking about guys. She is a doctor.
