Lost Dog!!! I am a Fort Drum soldier, and my brown and white pitbull is missing. His name is King and he ran away from his sitter. I am very concerned, I’ve had... him since he was a puppy and he has never been on his own. We both are from Florida and he does not do well in the cold weather. He is very attached to me and suffers from severe anxiety when I’m gone for to long. If found please notify me. He knows his name and is very friendly. He will come to anyone willing to rub his belly. Last seen by Black River Trail. Contact me if found @305-283-3323. Thanks!! See more

Anyone recognize these pups?

Ben Muir did an amazing article about what happened to our business. I am confident it will help clarify what happened, and help our business recover.

My daughter and I went on mobile today. As always we met some amazing people and pets! Lilly was especially excited when she found out we would be visiting Maggie Rizer on this particular day. As if that wasn’t enough, Maggie has the most amazing cat! Look at the size of this guy! Double the size of the average cat! Thanks Maggie, you made Lilly’s day!

This reminded me of the nonprofit I ran years ago called Feline Friends. So many cats... but they would always find purrrfect homes.

So, I think everyone knows what is going on now with the previous posts. This is Carrie Hilts apology. I was not able to get it to post directly, so I took a screenshot. Just work with me... I will never be able to figure out this technology! She mentioned that she did not bash my business..... sometimes the power of suggestion is all that is needed. She has done more harm to my business than Covid by posting reviews of a shop in Rochester that happens to have the same name. What still bothers me is the number of people that read it and didn’t see that it clearly said Rochester, N.Y. on those reviews. I’m really trying to find forgiveness here. What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. I do think we will be stronger in the end.

Please read this in it’s entirety. Thank you to all my clients who have my back. Apparently a woman by the name of Carrie Hilts from Oswego, NY has screenshot reviews from Shaggy Dog in Rochester, NY and posted them on my page. I don’t know this woman. As you all know, my business is in Watertown, NY. Unfortunately people have read what she posted but are not reading it and it’s entirety. They are assuming it is my shop, which in reality it is not.. Her post has negative...ly affected my business. I have messaged her to explain her mistake, but she won’t open the message. I’ve done all I can think to do. If anyone has any further suggestions, please share. UPDATE: Apparently Carrie blocked me from her Facebook page so she didn’t have to hear what I had to say about her posts. I had my son who works with us message her explaining that I was trying to get a hold of her to explain her mistake. This was the message, and her response. A shoulder shrug! Really? Where’s the apology!? If she was willing to put her name to trashing my business, she should be willing to put her name to an apology on my Facebook page. Accountability... (click on the screen shot to see the whole thing) I just had a long conversation with Carrie Hilts. I think she would agree that I’m a very reasonable person. She made a mistake, and is owning it. She did put forth the effort to call and apologize. This must have been extremely difficult for her. I do wish it had been swifter on her part. This is where we are at. What’s done is done. I think there are some valuable lessons that can be learned with what happened here. Right now we are working on damage control. It always seems to take a minimal amount of time for bad news to travel. That good news seems to travel like molasses.

We have been straight out at the shop with grooming, so I don’t have much time to post. I had to take a moment and share this adorable thank you note from a mobile client’s daughter.... so sweet!

This was so amazing I wanted to share it! Frances Seymore from the General Brown high school asked each of her band students to perform and record their part of Seven National Army. She then blended each of the recordings. I’m a proud parent of one of those students. Enjoy! https://youtu.be/t84T_cvQPl8

I love mobile! So relaxing for me, relaxing for the dogs, and I get time with my favorite helper (my daughter, Lilly)!

He is so happy now. He acts like a gentleman, and gets to enjoy his retirement with his friends. If he was left intact, his life would have been seclusion.

After years of being a stud goat, Oliver was neutered. I decided it was time to get rid of that stinky stud goat smell. He walked into the shop, walked up the step and into the tub. Took his bath like a champ! We even filed his horn nub!

We are receiving numerous phone calls regarding dogs with red spots on their undersides. People are worried that they are target lesions from a tick bite. Its o...fficially black fly season and these are unavoidable nuisances in the North Country. Black flies may not only find you a tasty feast, but also your pet. Black flies are small, biting flies that are pests to people and animals living, working, or playing near running rivers and streams. Black flies are sensitive to weather conditions, and are most active on cloudy, humid days with low wind. Black fly bites are painfully itchy and are created when the fly cuts a hole in the skin to suck blood from animals and people. The flies attack around the eyes, ears, scalp and occasionally on the arms and exposed legs. The pain and swelling of the bite are due to the body’s allergic response to the fly’s saliva that they inject when feeding. Fortunately, black flies do not transmit any diseases to humans, but can cause discomfort and irritation. Black flies tend to bite our pet’s underbelly and groin regions or ears of critters whose ears stand up. The large welts that are left behind are quite distinctive. A bright red circle, about the size of a nickel are usually found in places where the fur is thinner. We happy to answer any questions you may have concerning these painful bites. One of the most common questions we hear is: I think I’ve found a target lesion, does my dog have Lyme Disease? While a bull’s eye rash at the site of the tick bite is common with human Lyme disease infection, dogs have no such indicator. In fact, a dog infected with Lyme disease may show few if any signs, but some of the more common symptoms of this disease can include any of the following: Spontaneous and shifting leg lameness that lasts 34 days, sometimes accompanied by loss of appetite and depression Reluctance to move Fatigue If you find black fly bites on your pet, the good news is most pets don’t mind them. Even though these welts may look irritated and sore, they do tend to disappear over time. Some pets may be more sensitive to these bites than others and can develop a skin infection. Signs of this may include irritation of the skin, and/or excessive licking and chewing at the site of the bite. If your Pet has extensive bites and is uncomfortable please do not hesitate to call us, we’re always happy to help you and your pets!
