It's not too late for crisp, refreshing, Mediterranean-style wines here at Shawn. Massican is a project out of Napa that stands away from the crowd in that the wines taste like they're half from California and half from Friuli, Northern Italy. This is the flagship, Annia a unique blend of Tocai Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, and Chardonnay. That's a mouthful but in fact the medly yields a crisp, high-acid fresh and light wine. This is your go-to for a light, dry white with just the right zing and structure to it.

Botani Old Vine Moscatel comes from the steep, sea-wind-swept hills of Málaga where it has been growing for millennia in rather poor soil. It is harvested by hand, which due to the steepness of the incline and the weak soil is somewhat dangerous. There is little to no intervention with the vines and the yield is quite low. Despite all this, the result is very rewarding as the wine is delicious with a medium to full body, and a palate of lychee, fresh stone fruit and white flowers. I would love this wine on its own or with meaty seafood like salmon

It's Bols Genever! Now discounted to $32.99. This Dutch spirit is distilled from rye, corn, and wheat and then blended with 17 different botanicals. You might taste celery, peppercorn, lemon peel, and get a bit of a malty mouth feel. Mix things up with some Genever!

Marco Tinessa didn't come from a wine producing family. He left his career as a broker to pay tribute to his native Naples with a passion for wine in mind. With the help of the one and only wine extrodinaire Frank Cornelissen, a friend of his, he was able to release his first project, O'gnostro in very little time. He operates in the heart of the Taurasi DOC but goes his own path. Last Trip to Sicily is very true to his style, with very little intervention in the fermentation and vinification process, allowing the terrior of the Aglianico to really shine through in all its only glory.
