It was a jam packed weekend of fabulous walks - several in Central Park and another along the river towns of Westchester, and here’s just a sampling of what went down! Check our calendar at shorewalkers.org to register for upcoming hikes & join the fun!

Walk Off the Turkey (WOTT) Date(s): 11/28/2020 Time: 10:00 am Duration/Hours: 5-6 hours... Distance/Miles: 12 miles Come to Shorewalkers annual WOTT (Walk Off the Turkey) walk! MEET: 10 AM in front of the Staten Island Ferry terminal. #1/R trains to South Ferry. Walkers who prefer a brisker pace, arrive by 9:45am. Bob Wallace will lead a group of faster walkers (before 10am) to make space for everyone to social distance while waiting. Restrooms located on 2nd floor of the Staten Island Ferry Terminal. Join Shorewalkers for our annual post-Thanksgiving walk from the Battery to the Little Red Lighthouse. This is the perfect way to socialize safely, enjoy the Hudson shoreline and walk off those pesky holiday calories at the same time. About 12 miles and 5 hours later we’ll be at the GW Bridge. The Jungle Walk, in New Jersey's Wawayanda State Park

I had the pleasure of leading an intrepid group of hikers on an epic journey across the Tappan Zee Bridge, through Nyack, up Hook Mountain to Rockland Lake State Park before descending to the Shore Trail on our way to Nyack Beach State Park, back through Nyack and across the Tappan Zee back to Tarrytown. The day started off drizzly across the bridge, but as we reached Rockland Lake, the weather cleared and the return trip through the woods and along the river surpassed expectations. This was an arduous journey, and I couldn't have asked for a better group!

Another great day wandering off the beaten path with Shorewalkers hike leader Bill Tunis from upper Manhattan through Randall’s Island and over the RFK Bridge to Astoria before returning to NYC via the Ed Koch bridge. Gorgeous vistas, lively conversation and a a great way to enjoy #autumninnewyork

Well that was a fun long walk!! We started at #StatenIslandFerry & walked more then 12 miles to 145th street in 5 hours!! We started with 16 walkers, and ended with 6!! Special thank you to @sigridstropnik for sharing her knowledge! #citywalks #walkingnewyork #walkingmanhattan #shorewalkers
