Here it is: the 53 year old lost 16mm movie footage of my Dad, assistants and models creating the Adirondack Colorama. I think my Dad is shooting most of this m...ovie. For the first 1:08 they are scouting out shooting locations around Lake Placid. And then at 1:26 into the movie, they are heading out into the early morning fog to take the picture at the boathouse. At 1:54 the seaplane lands. And the rest of the movie shows them setting up the gigantic camera on a tripod in the water and taking the picture. It's amazing how large that camera is - it took several people just to set it up. And what they had to go through to take a single picture. Compare that to the digital cameras and cell phones of today.

Big Party this weekend at Shumway Marine! Rain or Shine! Saturday, June 23rd Party on the hill at the marina, we are celebrating 50 years of being in business and Schooner's 25th Season! As a thank you to your patronage we will have live music, food trucks and a beer truck. Teagan and the Tweeds go on stage at 12:00 noon and the Skycoasters from 3:00- 6:00. Donations for the Sunset House are being accepted.

FYI, The Marina Ship Store is now open Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am - 5pm. Think Spring and we look forward to seeing you !

Happy Spring! It is snowing again today on April 6th. This weather has caused great pains in the re-construction of docks E & F. The new power/water pedestals have arrived and will be ready for installation as soon as the weather permits.

Clear blue skies here in Irondequoit this morning, the temperature is rising with the expected high of 80 degrees today! Come visit us at Schooner's we open at 11:00 am for lunch service and tonight on stage is the Amy Montrois Trio from 6-10. It should be the perfect summer night on the river!

Reminder to everyone: The Annual Soap Box Derby is this weekend. Lakeshore Blvd is closed from Friday, June 3rd - Sunday, June 5th, between Culver Rd. and Kings Highway. Also be advised that Titus Avenue from 590 to Kings Highway is under major construction. Plan an alternate route and come play this weekend on the River! Neil Van Dorn is playing tonight, Friday from 6-10 Todd Simpson plays Saturday from 6-10 and ... Revolver plays Sunday from 3-Till
