My favorite therapist told me long ago that I’ll always look at a pile of shit and say I know there’s a pony in there somewhere! Behold! My new pony. Since having gotten pretty much forced out of my space of 11 years by a shit head landlord, we’ve been cramped in a space too small for real retail, and too small for the mountains of new merchandise I’ve been acquiring since summer. The plan was to move next door after my new (kind and compassionate) landlady closed her shop,... so it could feel more like a shop again. But in a last minute change of plan, I ended up keeping both spaces! So I hope to have space to do many things all at once. It’s very fresh, very loose, and who knows what’s going to unfold. But here we go. If you love real deal, funky town, hard to find, old ass vintage clothes, this is your place. If not, welp, you will hate it here so please don’t come thx. We are keeping sort of regular hours on the weekends, but are likely going to scale back because so many ding dongs don’t want to take care of each other and Covid numbers are spiking. But we have good heat and doors open so it seems like it’ll work for now. If you come, Wear a mask, wash your hands, and look out for us and each other for fucks sake Oh and you can bet that we are still buying vintage whenever we can, and busting ass listing in our Etsy shop where you can shop 24/7 and enjoy free domestic shipping. Hey hi hello We are trying out some funky laid back safe breezy cute awkward but friendly retail thing at our new spot in Hillsdale, now on Friday-Sun 12-5. It’s weather permitting so check in before coming a long way. We don’t know exactly how to do everything yet, but we are figuring it out. There are clothes inside and out with lots of fresh air and groovy tunes, and we are embracing our imperfections and the bizarro nature of reality now so don’t expect the old thing. ‘Todo tiene su final Nada dura para siempre.’ Sideshow isn’t really in Hudson anymore. I’m not much for sharing too much personal information here, but I would like to say that due to irreconcilable differences of nature, economics and ethics with my landlord, it wasn’t doable to stay in that space any longer. My shop there was an evolving experiment in reluctant capitalism. My talents are much more for making dancy playlists, digging through random dirt merchants’ clean out... contractor bags, getting grandpa’s last chocolate pudding out of a 50’s shirt, and hiding in the back room when I heard the voice of someone I couldn’t deal with in that moment. (Sorry if that was ever you I was hiding from) Many Many fun and hilarious times were had there, many feet shoed, bodies covered and uncovered. Parties for no reason, tipsy sleepovers, dance lessons, babes nursed on the couch in back. Being a boss wasn’t easy, and I still don’t think I’ve quite figured it out, but I certainly had the best ever beautiful and strange sweethearts to get my back when I needed it. Thank you to each and every one of you for showing up and following my golden rule. (You are not authorized to take any shit from anyone. Period, and I mean it.) Soooo, in the meantime, I moved all my shit to a spot in Hillsdale NY. If you had store credit I will be honoring it in my Etsy shop and will also be trying out some laid back but SAFE outdoor retail at the new spot cause I’ve got a nice deck.
