Major Valley Stream Effort to Support Our Community With a Donation Match Offer: Over the last few weeks it’s been inspiring to watch our community come together to help one another in our time of need. Especially two amazing local heroes, Larry Nolan and Kevin Aburto. Both are VS village workers using their spare time to purchase and deliver food and supplies to Valley Streams local pantries that serve the needy. They even deliver food to our front line heroes at the hospi...tals, fire stations, police departments and to our local grocery store employees. They make sure struggling neighbors have a place to get food, show our front line workers appreciation for their hard work, and support our local restaurants... all made possible by donations. Sipkin Orthodontics has proudly supported and donated to this heroic effort to fill our local pantries and feed our front line heroes. You can too! Phones will be answered Monday through Friday, 9am-4pm. - schedule a virtual visit with Dr. Sipkin if you need a check-in -arrange for your Invisalign trays to me mailed to your home -schedule an emergency visit if you need a wire clipped. ... - be assured that we will be working overtime once we are allowed to reopen to ensure you get rescheduled promptly. COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Updates Dear Practice Families; This evening the American Dental Association recommended that all elective dental procedures be postponed to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Therefore, it is with a heavy heart that I am making the difficult decision to close the office until March 30th for all routine orthodontic adjustments. The front desk staff will be at the office to answer your calls and help you reschedule, and Dr. Ava and I will rotat...e through the office routinely to see you for any emergency issues. We will remain open to assist you in every way possible, but will canceling our usual appointments. I am so sorry for this inconvenience. However, the safety of you and your families is more important to me than you can imagine, and I can’t in good conscience continue to remain open while our community is shutting down schools and other meeting places to avoid spreading the virus. Hopefully this brief social distancing period will help bring this unprecedented event to an end and reduce the burden on our hospitals who need the gloves and masks more than we do. I will of course remain in contact with any updates as they come. You can be sure we will be working overtime once we reopen so that we can reschedule your appointments as quickly as possible. COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Updates Dear Practice Families; As you may have heard on the news, a teacher at a Valley Stream school has tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus). We want to do our part to help our community stop the spread of this virus. The CDC and local government has requested limiting social gatherings as a way to decrease person to person transmission of the virus. We are in a unique position to help, as we have 2 beautiful offices in the same town. Out of ...an abundance of caution, over the next few weeks, we have decided to utilize BOTH of our Valley Stream offices simultaneously to decrease the amount of patient families at either location at any given time. While we understand this may feel inconvenient to some of you, we know you understand we are doing this to keep you, your families, and our staff safe. We will randomly select patients and assign them to either the 514 W Merrick Road OR 978 Rockaway Avenue location. If we do NOT call you, please go to the office you made the appointment at (Monday and Thursday at Rockaway Ave, Tuesday at West Merrick Road). Dr. Ava and Dr. Sipkin will each have half the staff at their assigned location and be ready and waiting to greet you. What can you do to help us navigate this unprecedented situation??? 1. Please don’t give the staff member contacting you a hard time about your assigned location. We promise they are doing their best!! This is a temporary situation, and the offices are only 6 minutes apart. Unless you have an extenuating circumstance (such as living next to one office with no car to get you to the other location), please smile and agree to whichever location you were randomly assigned to. We sincerely appreciate your cooperation. 2. Please limit the amount of people accompanying your child to the appointment. Normally, we absolutely love saying hi to your friends, grandparents, and aunties, but under the current circumstances please have only one person accompany your child inside if possible. 3. Do not send your child in if they have had a fever or are presently coughing. Give us a call and we will be happy to reschedule you! If a sibling is sick or coughing, we must insist they wait outside with you in the car. A staff member would be happy to walk your child out to your car if necessary after their appointment. The safety of you, your families, and our staff is always the most important thing to us. We are a strong community and we have no doubt that we will take care of each other and get through this difficult event. We will continue to communicate with you as the COVID-19 situation evolves. More space? Larger waiting room? Private Parking lot? YES...WE AGREE!!!! We are excited to announce the opening of our new larger Valley Stream office with a private parking lot, this Saturday, February 8th, 978 ROCKAWAY AVENUE. Same amazing staff, same quality, same style. Just more spacious. Going forward all patients coming on TUESDAYS and WEDNESDAYS will still be seen at 514 W Merrick Road. All other days we will now be seeing you at 978 Rockaway Avenue. Please pick... whichever office is most convenient for you. After all...we built it for YOU!!! Come visit soon.
