Each year, a member of the St. Joe's senior class is awarded the Class of 1931 Outstanding Senior Award, established by the late Doctor Richard Gaetz as a tribute to the memory of his class. Members of the Senior Class nominate their classmates in consideration of their academic achievements, extracurricular activities, leadership abilities, and sense of character. The award recipient is selected by the leadership team and department chairs based on an essay written by each nominee. This year's finalists are Sam Herr, Travis Nixon, Mike Noonan, and Nick Licata. Last night, at the Baccalaureate Mass, the 2022 winner was announced. This morning, we inducted 19 members of the freshman class into the Brother Pompian Honors Academy (BPHA). BPHA is made up of the top students in each class and challenges them with academic and cultural enrichment opportunities throughout their high school years. Congratulations to our inductees! After a crazy spring last year, we were finally able to induct our senior class members into the National Honor Society in a small ceremony held Friday morning before school. Inductees received their certificates and pins in front of their classmates, while parents watched via Zoom. Congratulations to these 55 young men on this great accomplishment, and thank you for being academic leaders on our campus! #SJCI2021

Cross Country had an eventful day yesterday, picking up a win against Timon (50-15) but losing in tiebreaker to Nichols (29-28). These two meets bring the Marauders’ overall record to 4-2 for the season. Next week the boys will celebrate their seniors on Monday, then are back at Como Lake Park to take on Canisius. Varsity Soccer suffered a tough 3-1 loss to Nichols on Tuesday, with the Marauders’ only goal scored by Dominic Marino ’21. The team is now 4-2-1 for the season, an...d takes on Timon today at 4 p.m. Varsity Golf took on Canisius on Tuesday, losing 186-203 in the match. This brings the Marauders to a final 5-5 record for the season. Thank you to our seniors, and a special shoutout to all of the guys for navigating this eventful fall athletics season!
