Super exited and proud of Aaron Ray, but will miss having him around!

It is with mixed emotions that the OP Office announces the departure of Aaron Ray, our Assistant Director of Student Outreach. Aaron has been a foundational part of Skidmore OP for over 5 years, first as Coordinator of Admissions and Summer Academic Institute and then as Assistant Director. Through his unique insights and creative thinking in overseeing the recruitment and admission of our students, he has had a formidable impact on shaping what the program looks like today. ...The hard work and persistence he’s put in to so many aspects of our program will leave an enduring mark on the OP community and on Skidmore in general. We’re sad to see him go, but we’re also excited to see what he accomplishes as he continues to work with OP students as Director of Hamilton College Opportunity Programs! As Aaron will always remind us, #HEOPworks! We encourage students, alumni, and friends to share their favorite memories and any photos of Aaron you may have.

Calling all documentarians, artists, and storytellers, please consider applying to the 2021 MDOCS Storytellers’ Institute, a fully funded summer residency for Skidmore students in creative non-fiction. ... Applications for Visiting Fellows will open soon. Be inspired by and receive mentorship from renowned documentarians/artists/storytellers, be part of an inspiring creative and intellectual community, receive dedicated time and support to make creative work! This year’s theme Co-Creation: Delights, Discontents, and Dislocations will address the ways that makers work with each other, institutions, and communities to make engaging work; and the new importance and challenges of collaboration during the pandemic.
