Notice to residents and guests: The Barnhardt Park spray park will be closed this summer until further notice as we repair the rubberized safety surfacing and add new water features. This work could not be done in the winter due to the temperatures to pour the rubber surfacing. We hope to have it up and running in August 2022. Thanks to NYS DEC and all the volunteers and village staff who helped plant 120 new trees at DeVries Park today! This is part of the state’s Hudson Estuary Trees for Tribs program.

School is out for break at the end of March. So have the kids stay busy and active in a safe environment. Register for the spring break sport clinic. March 29th-April 1st (4 days). 9am-12 noon at Barnhardt Park. For ages 5-8. $140 for the 4 days. US Sports Institute will run the program. SENIOR TRAIL WALK ON THE OLD CROTON AQUEDUCT NORTH END, FIRST THURSDAY OF THE MONTH Note: Two of these walks begin right here in Sleepy Hollow! Please come for a walk with us! Our goal is to connect with other people, go for a 1-2 mile walk in the woods, and perhaps learn something new about each section of this historic trail. Dress for the weather, walk at your own pace, and enjoy some hot cider with new friends. THURS, JANUARY 7 Meet at 10 AM: Croton Gorge Park/New Croton Dam playground, 35 Yorktown Rd. (walking south) Parking available next to the playground in Croton Gorge Park. Enter the park towards the base of the dam, not the top of the dam. Portable latrines are available. THURS, FEBRUARY 4 Meet at 10 AM: Ossining Community Center, 95 Broadway, Ossining NY (walking north) Parking available in the Community Center parking lot. Bathrooms may be available before and after our walk at the community center. This information will be confirmed closer to the walk date. THURS, MARCH 4 Meet at 10 AM: Rockefeller State Park Preserve, 125 Phelps Way, Pleasantville NY (walking within the Preserve) Parking available in the visitor center lot. The visitor center is closed but there are bathroom facilities available in the main lot. THURS, APRIL 1 (APRIL FOOLS DAY) Meet at 10 AM: Douglas Park, 2 Ridge St., Sleepy Hollow NY (walking north) Parking available on the street to the left. You will see the OCA trail on the left side of the street. No bathrooms or food available. Sleepy Hollow Recreation Tee Ball clinics are back in 2021! 6 Saturdays starting April 17th and ending May 22nd at Devries Park (Quattro Field). Three sessions to choose from: 9am or 10am for ages 3-4 and 11am session for ages 5. $50 per child. Instructed by US Sports Institute coaches. All social distancing protocols will be adhered to and masks must be worn. Limited spots in each time slot so don't miss out. Join us on Saturday, January 2nd, 2021, to help celebrate Armando "Chick" Galella's 100th Birthday! There will be a birthday motorcade tribute starting at 3:30pm on Beekman Avenue in front of Village Hall, and ending at Horan's Landing (motorcade route to follow). Please come out to cheer and show your support, clap and wave a hand fan (with Chick's picture) which will be available for pick up during this week at the Sleepy Hollow Police Station, 28 Beekman Avenue. This cel...ebration will be capped off with a fireworks display at dusk (approximately 5:15pm), which may be seen from village parks. Fireworks will be set-off from the Edge on Hudson construction site. The Riverwalk will be closed to the public from Kingsland Point Park to Ichabods' Landing during the fireworks. There are still a few spots open if you'd like to register. $10.00 per car. You can only register on-line. We will not be taking payment at the park that night.
