Soft Opening Date for Smooth Endings is November 16, 2020!... Our new Brooklyn address is 124 9th Street, Suite #290. It's quite different from 2nd Street, as we're now in "The Roulston House." The iconic building, once home to the bustling grocery business of Thomas Roulston more than 100 years ago, has been transformed into a boutique, Class A office building in the heart of Gowanus. The Smith-9th Street subway station servicing the F & G lines is less than a minute's walk from the building's entrance, and the R train is only a block away at the 9th Street Station. The 4th Avenue-9th Street Station, servicing the D,M,N and R lines, is an 8-minute walk. What can I do for you? Since I still need to check off a few more things on my to-do list, the new office is not quite 100% the way I want it yet. But, if you need a treatment, and don't mind the current state of minor disarray, I am able to see you - NO problem. PLEASE, just send me a text message and we'll make a plan. Covid-19 I have recently tested negative, again. As you know I've kept a sterile environment before C-19, and promise to continue to keep you safe. I know that you will also do your best to keep me safe by cancelling your appointment if you're not feeling well. I will be taking your temperature at the time of your appointment, and masks must be worn in the hallways of the Roulston House, and in my office. I look forward to the day we can put C-19 behind us, but until then, thank you for doing your part! Up On the Roof The Roulston House has a large rooftop with amazing views of Brooklyn and Manhattan - a great location to celebrate new beginnings with old friends. November 1 is my target date! I should have been in touch earlier - I know, and I'm sorry. Life has been crazy, and finding a new location wasn't as easy as I hoped it would be. That said, I'm almost finished packing, and moving this Saturday:-)... I will send another email, with all the details in a few days - I swear! The new space is in Park Slope - a short 9 blocks from my current space, and not to worry -- I made sure to be close to all the major subway lines for your convenience. Parking may be easier too! The latest news I'm so saddened by this news - heartbroken, actually. Smooth Endings' space at 510 2nd Street will soon be permanently closing. I've had a long ride there - a 32-year ride - but all good things must come to an end, so I've learned. My heart and memories are embedded in my space. My dad, ex-husband, and I took a dilapidated cinder-block garage, and transformed it into my first business - Who's On Second hair salon in 1988. It has since been gut renovated two ad...ditional times, and ultimately evolved into Smooth Endings. My closing of the 2nd Street space has nothing to do with the COVID-19 pandemic: It is simply about a landlord deciding that my space would be perfect for his new Brooklyn office. I’M NOT QUITTING, though. I've been very hard at work looking at new locations to relocate Smooth Endings as soon as possible. Although finding a new space would seem to be an easy task, the selections are not plentiful. I also have you - every client - in my thoughts about where to reopen. I know that you come from all over the borough to see me, and by many means of transportation. Because of that, my choices are limited, as I always check the closeness of the major subway lines. I do have Industry City as a back-up. The subways are on the corner, there's a lot to do there, and it's a quick ride from Manhattan. Please rest assured that if you have pre-paid for sessions, you will not lose your money. You will have your sessions fulfilled - I promise. My fondest memory of 2nd Street is knowing you! You have had a hand in my journey forward - nudging - encouraging, and confidence-building at every turn.
