Everyone expects you to #sayyestothedress ...but how do you really KNOW this one is The Dress?! Let's be real. You are probably going to like 2, 3 even 4 dresses when you go shopping. You are going to LOVE those 2, 3, or 4 dresses because they are all BEAUTIFUL. This - this choice - is the hardest part of wedding dress shopping - deciding what makes a dress The Dress and what dresses you can let go as being just pretty dresses. ... Here are a few common dilemmas brides face - and how to be real with yourself when you're making a decision: A lot of brides get stuck between two completely different dresses - let's say a ballgown and a more fitted dress. On the surface, these gowns are completely different. You can spend all day asking yourself which fit you like better, but most brides like something about both and you're likely to lead yourself down a spiral that makes any decision impossible. So focus instead on picturing the dress during different parts of your day. Do you see this dress cutting the cake, doing the first dance... walking down the aisle? Maybe you have two very similar dresses that you like. The temptation here is to start picking apart the details of the dresses. Instead, take a moment to close your eyes, shut out the opinions and staring eyes of everyone around you and ask yourself: which dress do I feel better in? We promise, there is always one dress you like just a little bit more. Always. We refer to the third most common dilemma brides face as the Tinder Effect: What if there's another, better dress out there somewhere?! We could go into a whole dissertation on the psychology behind this one, but basically this feeling/worry stems from two things: 1) Have I seen everything there is to see? and 2) Why don't I just KNOW? Say it with us: Professional Makeup Makes a Huge Difference for Quality Photos! Even if you're scaling back your wedding or doing something small now with a bigger celebration later, get your makeup done! Almost every bride has a story about how she thought she had too much makeup on until she saw photos. Professional makeup artists know how to highlight your best features (like Misty's eyes) and make them really pop in photos....
