Hello wine fans, As you are all aware by now, the COVID-19 pandemic has swept the nation and the world and we are all adjusting to the new rules of social distancing and staying home. However, Governor Cuomo has allowed micro-wineries such as ourselves to be considered a necessity and continue to sell our NYS products by the bottle on a take-out basis only, so starting Monday 3/22 we will be operating an outdoor kiosk just outside of the winery. This kiosk will be open from 1...0AM-12PM & 3PM-5PM on weekdays and customers will be served one at a time in order to comply with social distancing regulations. Healthcare providers will receive a 20% discount with valid ID. In addition to the kiosk, Gossett Bros. Nursery, home of South Salem Winery, will be hosting two outdoor farmer's markets during this time in order to provide much needed locally supplied fresh produce, seafood, baked goods, and meats to the public in the safest manner possible. The farmer's markets will take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9AM-2PM. We hope you all stay safe and healthy. Please practice social distancing when visiting the property. Attention wine lovers and fans of the winery! I would like to keep everyone up to date on what’s going on with the winery. At this point we are still working with our town board and various government agencies to install bathrooms in the main building. This must be accomplished in order for us to reopen and continue to make wine at this location. Though it is proving to be a very challenging effort since the winery sits on a agricultural piece of property that is surrounded b...y wetlands, all of the agencies have been working with us to achieve this goal. Unfortunately, these procedures can be very time consuming . Fortunately we do have a pathway to achieving this goal but I do not have a time frame just yet. Our next step is to meet with our town planning board for a site plan review of the proposed bathrooms and property. We will keep you posted as we proceed. Attention wine lovers! As you know, our winery has been closed for tastings since last May due to reasons beyond our control. We have been working diligently to try and reopen. With the support of our townspeople and the town board, we have been granted approval to resume operations from the town. We are now working with the county health department to comply with standards for a new business which requires a new water treatment system and an on-site waste water system. We h...ope to get approvals soon so we can continue to provide our boutique locally made NYS wines.
