Good Morning! The staff at SWT would like to reach out and ask parents to please contact your home district nurse as well as our onsite nurse, Marilyn at 315-287-3590 ext. 50126, if your child is home for COVID-19 symptoms. Being informed quickly about students who are showing signs/symptoms and/or being tested allows us to make contact tracing lists swiftly and get notifications out to families much faster when we are notified of a positive. We have been informed that two students have tested positive for COVID-19. At this time, we have contacted those in the associated programs and anyone else who may have been in contact with the positive individuals so they can begin a precautionary quarantine. We plan to hold in person instruction for the remaining programs on Monday January 11th. We are working closely with the St. Lawrence County Department of Health to assist in their contact tracing procedure. We cannot s...hare identifying information regarding the positive individual, but if you or your child were in contact with the positive individual, you will be contacted by the department of public health. As COVID cases continue to spike in our area, please continue to be diligent with following the health and safety guidelines, including wearing a mask, social distancing, proper hygiene, and avoiding gatherings. As a reminder, if you have concerns and would like to seek COVID-19 testing proactively for you or your child, there are testing sites available throughout the county. Unfortunately, we have been informed that a staff member has tested positive for COVID-19. Due to a high number of staff who are out on quarantines, we do not have the adequate level of staff to hold in-person learning and therefore will pivot to remote instruction starting this afternoon, with an anticipated return on January 4th. Prior to that date, we will reassess the staffing situation and inform you if we need to extend the period of remote instruction.
