Sprakers Reformed Church 04.03.2021

We have officially reopened! It is wonderful to be back in our sanctuary worshipping together again even with social distancing and following our other necessary restrictions. Please join us for in person worship if you feel comfortable following the required safety measures and are feeling well. If you are health compromised or at risk in some way, you are invited to worship on line with Pastor Nancy Ryan on the Fort Plain Reformed Church's Facebook page. Thank you to Pastor Nancy & the Fort Plain church for including us in on line worship opportunities throughout the pandemic! Our October dates for worship are Oct 4th and 18th at 9 AM and the Gathering, Oct 24th at 6 PM. Hope to see you soon!

To all those bike path patrons who visited our church this summer - Thank you for stopping! We feel blessed that we were able to continue to offer this rest stop in the midst of the pandemic. And a huge THANK YOU to all who left a donation! Your generous giving allowed us to continue to support our ongoing missions : the local emergency food pantry located in Fort Plain, the missionaries we support in Oman https://rca.org/joshua-and-erica-bode , and Mission Aviation Fellowship https://maf.org. May God Bless you in your future travels! Please stop in again. Our door is always open!

Many thanks to all volunteers who supported our bike path ministry this year. Although the focus shifted from restocking the cooler with ice and cold water to c...leaning and sanitizing, your efforts helped us to continue in this mission outreach during the pandemic. Our respite spot was greatly appreciated by many, many visitors this summer. A special THANK YOU to Nancy, Stacey & Vicki! See more

Hallelujah! Praise God for His precious gift of salvation! We pray you are safe and healthy. We miss worshiping together and seeing everyone. As our lives are turned upside down, let us not forget to worship, pray, and show His love in whatever ways we can. Rest assured God is in control.

Dear friends, It is with deep regret but also out of concern for the health and safety of our church "family" that we are cancelling church activities for the remainder of March. This includes our confirmation class and our Gathering service which were scheduled for March 28th. Although we will not gather in person we can gather in spirit... please continue to pray for each other and our nation, spend time in reading the Word, call and write notes to those who may be isolated..., and take time to slow down, relax, calm yourself, and count your blessings. Yes, count your blessings! I know these are very anxious and unprecedented times. We have a choice to either get caught up in the frenzy or to take a step back and focus on what is God calling us to do in this situation. What is the response to be made that is based in love? This prayer was shared today by the Regional Synod of Albany. I found it to be very powerful and wanted to share it with you. Prayer for a Pandemic, by Cameron Bellm May we who are merely inconvenienced Remember those whose lives are at stake. May we who have no risk factors Remember those most vulnerable. May we who have the luxury of working from home Remember those who must choose between preserving their health or making their rent. May we who have the flexibility to care for our children when their schools close Remember those who have no options. May we who have to cancel our trips Remember those that have no safe place to go. May we who are losing our margin money in the tumult of the economic market Remember those who have no margin at all. May we who settle in for a quarantine at home Remember those who have no home. As fear grips our country, let us choose love. During this time when we cannot physically wrap our arms around each other, Let us yet find ways to be the loving embrace of God to our neighbors. Amen.
