Dogs and cats that are obese, sh...ort-nosed, geriatric, and heavy coated may be at a greater risk than the average pet. Be sure to keep your pet in cool areas, allow for plenty of shade and water, don't exercise your pet in extreme heat, do not leave your pet in a car for any amount of time, and monitor your pet for any signs/symptoms of heat stroke (listed in the graphic below). If your pet is showing any of the symptoms, start cooling measures, take their rectal temperature if you're able, and get to an emergency vet ASAP.
