After a few weeks of drought, we were blessed with some rain just in time for gardening day!

Letter from Susan Essons: Dear Springwater family, A few snowflakes drifting down to a snowless floor here in CT. Spring comes and grass grows. What does that?... I have come to share with you that last evening March 23rd our dear friend Susan Parks passed on, or as she would say died. A remarkable woman and friend whom I know we will dearly miss. I also share this with you on behalf of Jane her spouse. We are all in bit of numbness this morning so not sure what to say. I was fortunate enough to be with Susan and Jane a couple of weeks ago when she was very sick. Jane called me and asked me to come down. The cause of Susan's decline was and is still unknown, was it cancer somewhere they could not find, was it stokes, was it post effects of radiation? was it a rare syndrome? Doctors could not figure it out. What I saw was that Susan could not eat, walk or pee. Jane tried valiantly and could not figure it out. or her efforts make it better. All this kept bringing Susan and us back to the moment. Most of my hours with Susan in the hospital and rehab were her lying with her eyes closed, calm. Just the way she always was in the sitting room . Me sitting quietly in a chair next to her. Other times we all went out for walks Susan in a wheelchair, she did PT, OT and all the other stuff when she could. She said to me in the hospital very early onIf this is the end of the line, I am OK with that. Of course some doubts and fears appeared... she handled them quietly. She experienced discouragement, hope, acceptance and bewilderment. I witnessed so much love between her and Jane. Sometimes that love brought suffering. I say all these words lightly, there is no way to tell you exactly about my love of Susan Parks. My beating heart, tears that fall, I know not where the fingers will type what words will come. You know , without knowing, who Susan Parks was. I do not do FaceBook much because mostly I find it a waste of time and of course it is a useful tool in communication. You are welcome to pass this email on to members and friends that knew Susan using any means you like. I spoke to Jane, she said I could could be a liaison for you if you wish to reach out to her. That way she would know the person reaching out was a Springwater person as she does not know you by name. I have shared some pictures here with you, the latest around February 17th in rehab. I love you all very much and will keep in touch if there is more to share which I am sure there will be. Susan E.

Sunday Morning March 22, 2020 (Susan Schepp) Being Here in The Midst of Uncertainty Sitting here with the warm sunshine streaming in through the window, listening to the sounds of birds chirping, remaining in the stillness and uncertainty, there is a feeling of a calm quiet energy. And in this space, there is the feeling that everything is okay as it is, a feeling of harmony within oneself that includes love and compassion. In this time of great uncertainty there is a wond...Continue reading
