COVID-19 Claims Life of LAFD Firefighter LOS ANGELES It is with profound sadness that the Los Angeles City Fire Department (LAFD) announces the death of Fire...fighter III/Paramedic Jose M. Perez, who passed away at a local hospital from complications of COVID-19 on Saturday, July 25, 2020. Firefighter/Paramedic Perez had been with the Department for 16-and-a-half years. He was 44 years old. He is survived by his wife and three children. Fire Chief Ralph Terrazas and the entire Department send their deepest and most sincere condolences to the Perez family.
