J Pamma, J Narya and J Lachiram are three farmers from Bodakonda village who are practicing System of Crop Intensification (SCI) for red gram and cotton. They a...re cultivating 2.15 acres of land, to grow red gram and cotton, through SCI method in Ranga Reddy district of Telangana. The SCI method involves careful selection of high-quality seeds, wide spacing between plants and the use of organic manure and formulations for increasing agricultural yield. Wide spacing between plants minimises competition for available nutrients, water, air and sunlight.
