An update from Fr. Louis Leonelli, CFR: Thank you for all your prayers and support. I am recovering from back surgery in which they removed the fragments from a shattered L1 vertebrae and fused vertebrae T11 to L3, a 5 vertebrae distance, with 4 metal rods. I am delicately walking around but feeling good about the results of the surgery. The shattering of the vertebrae was caused by the direct extension of a malignant tumor on my kidney touching the spine that weakened the L...1 weakening it enough to shatter when I violently coughed while I was in isolation. We are trying to determine if the cancer spread and am awaiting a PET scan used for this purpose. I am trusting in your prayers for a good outcome. I am truly grateful for what Jesus and Mary have done for me these past few months. I am not receiving phone calls at this time so that I can better recover and communicate with my doctors. Please pray in thanksgiving with me and for a full and speedy recovery for me!! God bless us all!!!

Here at Saint Anthony's during out quarantine we have had quite the journey. We have been blessed by God with good health and a relatively smooth quarantine experience. There have been many adjustments made to our life here at the shelter in order to better serve our men. Through all of the chaos of this pandemic, God is continuing to show how faithful He is even in the midst of this struggle!
