St. Paul the Apostle Bulletin for November 15.

St. Paul the Apostle Church 02.11.2020

The COVID pandemic has begun to show an up tick in the number of cases in the local area. In order to keep our employees, volunteers, and parishioners as safe as possible we need to lessen the amount of traffic entering and exiting the office beginning Tuesday, November 17th. If you have cause to go to the office, call first to see if your needs can be handled over the phone. You can also email: [email protected]. Requests for Mass cards will be taken by phone, e-mail or the USPS and the cards will then be left on the counter in the Sacristy of the Church where you can pick them up any time during the day. Thank you for your cooperation.

Heaven, Hell & Purgatory Christians see a close connection between salvation and atonement. Atonement allows God to grant salvation to humans who are not worthy of it. Christ’s death opened the way for humans to receive salvation and attain heaven but, too often, our souls are still warped by sin. The inclination to sin acquired through original sin is increased by personal sin. If one has not sufficiently expiated specific offenses against God during the course of our present life, there is need for reparation in purgatory. Our transgressions can be eliminated by a constant and generous purification in this life. Humans who enter purgatory will spend differing amounts of time depending on how impacted their souls became due to sin. Prayers offered by the living lessen the pain and the time in purgatory. Heaven follows.
