It is with great shock and sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Fr. Kevin O'Reilly, Academic Dean and Professor of Dogmatic Theology. An alumnus of Dunwoodie and ordained a Priest of the Archdiocese of New York on May 11, 1996, Fr. O'Reilly served St. Joseph's Seminary as a faculty member and administrator since 2004. We pray for the soul of Fr. Kevin and we pray also for the consolation of his family, loved ones, and all of his former students and colleagues! Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon him!

The seminarians and formators of St. Joseph's Seminary were honored and grateful to participate in the webinar on "Preaching Against Racism" led by Bishop Shelton Fabre of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux.

Fr. Kyle Eads, a priest of the Diocese of Albany and an alumnus of the Class of 2019, is featured on the front page of The Evangelist blessing animals at Mater Christi Parish, where he serves as parochial vicar.

We join in prayer with the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal in the celebration of the Transitus and Feast of St. Francis of Assisi! St. Francis of Assisi, pray for us!

BOB LOMBARDO, CFR ...AS AUXILIARY BISHOP OF THE ARCHDIOCESE OF CHICAGO It is with gratitude to God that the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal announce that Fr. Bob Lombardo, CFR has been named an Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Bishop-elect Lombardo is one of the eight founders of the Community of Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. The Community was established with a desire to work more definitively for personal and communal reform within the Church. After serving in numerous capacities for the Community over an eighteen-year period in the South Bronx, Bishop-elect Lombardo responded to an invitation by Cardinal George in 2005 to open a mission for the poor on the west side of Chicago. He currently serves as the Director of the Mission of Our Lady of the Angels in West Humboldt Park, IL. As a faithful son of St. Francis, Bishop-elect Lombardo has consistently sought to play his part in Rebuilding the Church serving both the materially and spiritually poor. A privileged fruit of his labor and fidelity is the founding of the Franciscans of the Eucharist in 2010.
