Job Description GENERAL DESCRIPTION Performs duties related to the all manufacturing phases of Special Machines projects including part fabrication (CNC & manual mills) machine assembly, testing and debug, and occasional installation assistance at customer facilities. Strong focus on setup, program, & run CNC mill (programming both on machine and using CAM package) as well as machining on manual Bridgeport mill. Additional duties included manual lathe & grinder operation, ass...ist with custom general machine building & assembly through direction from Shop Foreman, interact with Engineers on design and part fabrication, and assist with Production milling or lathe operation if needed. There may be an occasional need to assist with general shop area maintenance. It is expected candidate will maintain a positive work environment and communicate effectively with co-workers and management staff. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Ability to interpret Engineering drawings for dimensions and tolerances to fabricate parts to required specifications Ability to run CNC mill in all aspects program, setup, create program manually and/or with CAM package. Knowledgeable in material selection to assist with part fabrication Assist other Shop personnel & Engineering staff with project assembly, test, & debug Ability to use general inspection tools (Vernier calipers, Micrometers) Ability to work to a project schedule Assist other Shop personnel with machine maintenance as needed Ability to work under direction of Shop Foreman Other tasks as directed by Management See more
