Stamford Gym

Our new gym hours began today. We will be open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 6am to 12pm and 4pm to 6pm. (Closed from 12-4) and Saturday 10am to 12pm. These limited hours are because the health department is requiring us to have a staffed desk when we are open. We realize this is not ideal but please recognize we are doing everything we can to keep the gym open, even on a limited basis. Thanks to everyone who has expressed their support. The gym will start signing up new members when our new limited hours go into effect on Saturday, Aug. 29th. (Sorry to the people we turned away before we got our "stuff" together!!) As you may know, the health department has set some strict regulations for the re-opening of gyms. One of them is that there must be a staff member present during operating hours. 24/7 is not allowed. Therefore we will be cutting way back on our operating hours, which will be inconvenient for some..., but necessary to keep the gym open. Our goal is to keep the gym open for the community. We have not made a penny for over 5 months while still paying rent, utilities etc. This adjustment in the hours will allow us to be open and in compliance with the regulations. Our next challenge is to pass the health department inspection, happening soon! We are now signing up new members as usual. (starting Aug. 29th 10-12) Thank you for your patience while we figure this all out. Please come to the gym! It’s clean, it’s air conditioned (with the proper filters), it’s fun and you’ll look and feel great! We have received new updates on gym opening regulations. We can not be 24/7 and we have to have a staff member working the desk when the gym is open. We have no idea how we are going do this financially. I have contacted our local representatives regarding this issue but if there are no changes to this requirement we will not pass the health inspection and will need to close our doors again. Right now we are restricting door access from 6:00am to 9:00pm. Sorry to have to bring you this bad news. We will keep you posted as we learn more information.

WELCOME BACK TO STAMFORD GYM! LET’S KEEP IT OPEN! For your safety and the safety of others: *All members must wear a face covering when in the gym. No exceptions!... *Use hand sanitizer - on the front desk. *Use the spray bottles and paper towels to wipe equipment after you have used it. *Wash hands frequently. *Practice physical distancing - 6ft if possible. *If you don’t feel well, please don’t come! Good news! Governor Cuomo has come out with guidelines for the reopening of gyms. We will be reopening on Monday, August 24 @10:00. We will be following all the reopening requirements. Masks and social distancing will be required. We can only have 10 people working out at one time. Temperatures must be taken and recorded upon entering the gym. Members need to check in and check out in case contact tracing is needed. It's jumping through some hoops but if we all follow the rules we can reopen and stay open.

Hello everyone! We now have a brand new website! Check it out with the link below or by going to www.stamfordgymfitnesscenter.com. We have been using this down time to paint and clean the gym and equipment. We have also refurbished many machines and equipment with new parts and cables. We are working on a on-line portal which will allow everyone to purchase and update their memberships on-line. Hopefully we will get to see all of you in person very soon! Stay safe!

We really miss everyone and can’t wait to open!! In the meantime we have been painting and cleaning and Dennis has been busy ,working on the equipment...new cables on some, new belt on one of the treadmills...and more! We’re preparing a protocol for when we open so that members feel as safe and comfortable as possible. More on that later. Let’s hope we can open in the middle of June...we don’t know yet. Sorry to bring you this news, but Governor Cuomo has ordered all gyms in NYS to close at 8pm, March 16th until further notice. All current members will have their memberships frozen until we re-open. (Soon I hope!) Until then stay safe and healthy! (Members, if you want a final work out get there soon. Doors will be locked at 8!)

As of Monday, March 16th, the gym will be closed to everyone EXCEPT current gym members until further notice. Cathy or Carol will be in the gym briefly each day to sanitize the equipment etc. If you need to re-up your membership, you can call Carol - 652-3538 or Cathy - 538-9778 or send a message to make an appointment. We are not accepting new members at this time. Members, PLEASE do not open the door to ANYONE! If someone's card does not work it means that their membership ...has expired. Also, do not bring non-members into the gym. Non-compliance with the above "rules" will mean we will have to close the gym completely, which we are trying to avoid. Please be cognisant...keep your distance from other members and clean equipment you have used with the spray bottles and paper towels. We are all in the same boat. Hi gym members. We will be cleaning all the gym equipment (and everywhere else where hands touch) every day with a disinfectant. We ask that you continue to do your part by using the available spray bottles and paper towels on equipment you have just used. Thank you!!

We'll be closed on Christmas Day except for our members. We wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a wonderful 2020!! Thank you to all our members for respecting the gym even when we're not there. It could only happen in a small community like Stamford! Thank you to Tom and Del...couldn't do it without you!
