3/24/20 Here's the latest update from the Greater Rochester Board of Realtors. Appraisers have been deemed essential However, see below for the list of other real estate service providers that are NOT. Please be wary of some who maybe ignoring the order . Photographers, home inspectors, and sign installers are NOT essential l! Let's hope this pause is over soon so we can go back to business but in the meantime, please stay home and stay safe!!... "Realtors, home inspectors... photographers, sign installers, and others in our industry are ordered to stay home, unless they’ve gotten notice from the governor’s office stating they are an essential business. This includes all types of companies, including sole proprietorships and independent contractors. NYSAR is working with the state to try to get closings deemed essential, but we have not heard any updates on that today... There have been questions about whether a seller could let a buyer into their home and go into the car while they view the house. This should be avoided for both health and safety reasons, as well as legal and risk management reasons. Attorneys are considered essential and many lenders are able to perform closings virtually, so please contact the attorneys and lender involved in your transactions to see if you can move forward. The Executive Order to stay home prohibits final walk-throughs at this time, so you may need to find alternative solutions."

This year is one of great change for Stargazer in more ways than one. As of January 1, I became the sole broker/owner, Now as of 8:00 pm tonight, March 22, 2020, real estate will be restricted by the "New York State on Pause" Executive Order of Governor Cuomo. Realtors in NY are restricted from working outside of our homes so no in-person showings, listing appointments, or open houses are allowed. We can work from home and are fortunate to have the systems in place to do so. ... I plan to put this time to good use as I consider the direction of my brokerage and there's always more to learn. I will continue painting - it's good "therapy" for me - and my husband and I will continue our mobility company as an essential business serving Veterans in the area. I hope this email finds you and your family safe and in good health. My wish is that continues in the days ahead, as we journey through these uncharted waters together.
