Tuesday, 10/27 | By the end of the day today, Mercury will have slid by retrograde back into Libra and at the same time, Venus enters Libra. Venus entering Libra is a big jump in resources and options for Venus and Venusian matters. She's been traveling through Virgo where she is debilitated and without her best tool box. Most of the day, Venus remains in Virgo and only until very late at night does she enter the Libran land of her grace. As such, Venus matters (relationships..., money, women) may tend towards a sense of urgency, "let's be done with this", "move on", "I deserve better" type of energy. A nickname I’ve had since I was younger is firestarter. Lizard is another one, but that doesn’t apply here So as I’ve gotten older, this firestarter waxes and wanes. I have a far better handle on my anger and mind intensities, but sometimes the fierceness is like a sleeping monster just below the surface. In astrology, the story of our anger can be found in a few placements, one of which is our Mars. I have Mars in the same sign as my Moon, Taurus and it is widely connected to Uranus (chaos) and while I’m content and easy going the vast majority of the time, when the winds whip up, the poltergeist activity around me still jacks up and things break or burn. During these times, my husband will recommend I stay out of the kitchen where all our more expensive appliances are I have a long history of blowing fuses, killing electronics and jacking up computers and cell phones. The Sun is traveling currently through my 8th house while there, it lights up a number of particular circumstances unique to my chart and life experience. The monster showed up just after midnight. As they do. - Patrick Ness, A Monster Calls Most months, as the Moon moves through Scorpio I tend towards dark mystical dreams. I’m a dreamer by nature and often recall many each night. This weekend was no different. Last night (early this morning) the Moon still in Scorpio, shuffled over my North Node also in Scorpio - which sits in my 8th house. The 8th is a darker house and necessarily so, as in most darker places - shadows and ...liminal creatures tend to lurk, both real and imagined. This dream last night felt so palpably all of that transit, I wanted to share. In a dream last night, I visited with an unusual creature. He was mostly made of vines and moveable wood. He was tall and creaky, as you might expect wood to sound if it walked. He smelled of earth; like fresh worms in spring. He reminded me of the Monster in the movie, A monster calls and I wondered how I had come to be here with him in a dream. We walked a mountain’s edge, just a little below its crest as I was unable to view what lay below on the other side. The moveable monster could though, he was tall enough. He lept looking over and then looking back at me. I felt sadness and lament pour from his vined-self. His little viny curly-q’s sagged with each despair in low breath. The wind whipped and bit at my ears and head. I had no hat or ear coverings and this was becoming an increasing pain experience. While at the same time, the vine-spirit kept us walking. Northwest was our direction. It felt like forever and in dream scenes it was only a few seconds but I couldn’t walk any further, my head and face were frozen and full of prickly pain. Realizing I couldn’t walk any farther on this hagged cliff’s edge, he creaked and cracked and knelt down to scoop me up. I leaned in to his chest and there was a warmth from the center of his chest that wasn’t from a fire. It was a beautiful glow of red and orange. While not forcefully, he pushed me into his wooded body and like being reborn, in reverse, I curled up into a ball around this glow to warm. The movement began once again and I knew my vined friend was carrying us to our destination. And somehow, inside his dirt-fumed body, huddled and gaining life force from this warm glow I had a profound realization. I knew that he was embodiment of grief and death. This grief monster walked alongside me in the most precarious of environments and looked out for me and when I could no longer walk, he carried me not by his arms, but by the womb of his warm heart; love. Love, grief, life and death. How tricky our language can be, giving us the sense they are all different and exclusive of each other. When the time comes around, I hope this is the way it happens - being carried and reborn once again into the womb of the earth
