To everyone following my live yoga videos, I won't have time to do one today... it is the first day of the semester (for me, at this university...) and I have t...o concentrate on getting back into the swing of things. Here's a booty circuit workout to do instead! 12 reps of 3 sets, so repeat the entire circuit 3 times. Move 1: Squats [sit BACK into your booty!] Move 2: Plie squats [that's standing in 2nd position with your feet pointed out sideways from your body, like we do in goddess squat in yoga] Move 3: Fire hydrant [on your knees, lifting your knee out to the side, for your side butt/glute med!] Move 4: Glute bridge with pulses [lying on your back] Move 5: Single-leg glute bridge [1012 reps each leg] Move 6: Down-dog split with glute pulses [1012 reps each leg] Make sure to stretch doing your pidgeon on your stomach or back. As you are moving through, with intention focus on your glutes. Feel free to tap them to wake them up, especially if you're used to recruiting your hamstrings and hip flexors instead of your glutes. Keep your abs fired on--remember they are your greatest stabilisers! xoxo
Hi everyone! So as you might know, I started a group for people who might want to explore healthy, balanced, wellness goals for 2019. I've been giving the membe...rs a workout almost daily since we started on January 7th. But I've been doing it via going live on FB, and I'm getting a lot of strange messages and friend requests... which is not really my jam. So while of course you can rely upon me to periodically share relevant The Musicologist Yogi goods on my personal FB page and on Stellar Yoga Space and so forth, I'd rather not put all of my content out there to engender the strange messages and interactions 24/7. :-) If you'd like to follow us and join our group, it's at 2019 Wellness Goals for EVERY BODY with The Musicologist Yogi. Expect a daily workout and other wellness tips and tricks, and you can also solicit my help or advice. I specialize in yoga for academics and in modifications for disabled yogis, especially those of us with autoimmune & mental health issues, and yoga for EVERY BODY.
