At 02:32 on Saturday December 26th, 2020 the Walden Fire Department, along with the Coldenham and Wallkill Fire Departments, was dispatched to a reported house ...on fire at 118 Plains Rd. The first fire department unit was on the scene at 02:38 and found heavy fire showing from the front of a two-story two-family home. A second alarm was transmitted bringing Orange Lake, Montgomery, City of Newburgh Fire Departments , Town of Montgomery Ambulance Corps, Orange County Fire Investigators, and Central Hudson crews to the scene. Additionally, due to a lack of water service in this area of the Town of Montgomery a tanker task force was requested bringing Plattekill and Stewart-Air Guard Fire Departments with additional equipment from Coldenham and Orange Lake Fire Departments. A short time later additional crews from the Bullville and Modena Fire Departments were requested to assist with relief purposes. The fire left two families without shelter, one of which received assistance from the local branch of the Red Cross. There were no injuries to any civilians or firefighters reported. Crews from the Maybrook and Pine Bush Fire Departments manned crews to cover any additional calls in the area during the fire. Coldenham Fire-Rescue Wallkill Hook, Ladder and Hose Co. One of our own has suffered the other side of what we do. Fortunately everyone is ok. Anything that you can do to help them while they are displaced from their home and replace what was ruined would be greatly appreciated.
Merry Christmas to all. Stay safe and enjoy your day.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone
