PASTORAL LETTER Dear sisters and brothers of St. Mark’s family, I greet you in the name of Risen Lord Jesus Christ.... Early morning on the day when Jesus rose from the dead, Mary Magdalene and other women witnessed that the massive and large stone was rolled away from the entrance of the tomb, and the tomb was empty. It is inexpressible to describe the joy of women. Yes, indeed, Jesus the Nazarene has risen and was not there! Jesus, our hope and salvation, does not belong to the darkness. He was sent by Father God to deliver us from darkness to light. We are children of His light. Today we celebrate the victory of His resurrection. We joyfully tell the story of His coming to us, the message of redemption and salvation, to the world. Let us proclaim to all that Jesus was raised from the dead for us and came into our lives. Because He lives, we live also. Today we are all experiencing a difficult time caused by coronavirus pandemic. I believe we all can sing a joyous song when we overcome it with the strength, hope, and peace that Jesus equips us day after day. Let us ask God to sustain our hope and faith in Him. God knows the fear, anxiety, and disparity precisely. But one thing is sure; I repeat the same what I preached last Sunday, that is nothing can separate us from the love of God. The victory is ours. We are Easter people. Nothing can hold us in the gloomy and dark trap. Let us lean upon Jesus, who can roll away the heavy stones that block our eyes from the Light of Hope and Faith in Jesus. May the Risen Christ grant you peace and love as you continue your pilgrim of the journey toward the Cross and the Empty Tomb during the holy week. You are called to a spiritual time and worship on Good Friday, April 10th at 7:30 p.m. Faithfully yours, Pastor Gunshik
The St. Mark’s UMC congregation was so blessed to have been able to worship together this morning using the Zoom meeting application. Our Pastor, the Rev. Gunshik Shim, offered an inspiring church service, assisted by today’s Liturgist and technical advisor Nate Berry.
Join us today for our Ash Wednesday Service at 7:30pm!
