Viola students are mad for science thanks to one of our favorite PTA sponsored programs from @madsciencegroup. Today students learned about habitats and even made molds of bird feet! Hands-on learning at its best! #mountiepride #sufferncentral

Walking through the halls of Suffern High School today, we popped into our English Language Arts classes to hear a variety of book discussions. "The Crucible," "A Raisin in the Sun," and "Othello" were among those being deconstructed. Whether virtually or in person, students were interpreting and analyzing characters, motives and storylines. Pictured here are Greg Casarella, Elizabeth Colleta and Kim Palmiatto's classes. #MountiePride #SuffernCentral @suffernhs

Back in school, Suffern Middle Schoolers are happy to be together and working on their art. We visited Michele Schwartz's class where students were enthusiastic about showing off the beginning stages of their jungle safari projects in which they capture images from magazines, use lightboxes to transfer them to paper and then water colors to bring each landscape to life. #MountiePride #SuffernCentral @suffernmiddleschool

Students in Michelle Foley's second grade class at RP Connor are happy to be back in school this week - and to celebrate being all together, they had a New Year's party and talked about their 2021 goals and intentions. Some of their goals: master a jump on a dirt bike, see friends more and for the Corona virus to go away. We couldn't agree more on that last one. Welcome back Mounties! #MountiePride #SuffernCentral

Cherry Lane ended 2020 by giving their English as a New Language (ENL) parents an opportunity to learn more about virtual learning as well as provide a safe space for any questions and concerns. Through their first ever ENL Virtual Family Night, parents were able to engage in dialogue with Cherry Lane's ENL teachers and school principal Angela Aguilar. More than 30 families attended during the two sessions offered. One was presented in English and the other in Spanish, pro...viding an opportunity for authentic conversations to take place. The night was a huge success and teachers have already noticed an increase in student engagement, participation and parent communication. They are looking forward to having another one in the spring! #MountiePride #SuffernCentral @cherrylaneelementary

On Wednesday, the RP Connor Math Ambassadors, a group of fifth graders led by math specialist Lynda Brennan, guided more than 200 students in a school-wide virtual math play date. Students were given age-appropriate math games and broke out into groups to learn, laugh and math together. #mountiepride #sufferncentral
