SUNNYSIDE ARTWORKS 2020 AWARDS CEREMONY Each year Sunnyside Artworks presents their annual fashion show "Project Streetwear". At the end of the show, critic awards and teacher awards are presented to students based on their creative looks on the runway and their performance overall in the classroom. Since the show was not possible this year, Miss Gilly and Bonita decided a "socially distant, virtual award ceremony" was in order.... We present... ...for accuracy in achieving the most difficult skills and overall excellence in construction of a jacket, THE TAILORING AWARD goes to Nathalie Sullivan. ...for excellence in drafting a pattern from measurements, manipulating it into design ideas, and constructing multiple garments above and beyond the scope of the class curriculum, THE DRAPE AND DRAFT AWARD goes to Ruby Kavanaugh. Our program's highest achievement is THE GOLDEN THIMBLE AWARD. Each year the award is given to students at different levels who have shown the most improvement throughout the year. We applaud their progress as we are a learning program. We believe those who have worked the hardest to overcome difficult tasks, have learned the most.
