Creating a little upcycle from the land- literally... The tire was found on the land along with some other "stuff" needing to be cleaned up some of which is still on the list. Including but not a complete list.. a car axle, lawn mowers decks (yes plural), a bike, 55 gallon drums, an old deer stand, and that is just what we can see in the golden rod.. another project on the list.

Here at Sunstruck Farms we like to be creative and a little extra. You know how you can get molds to make shot glasses out of ice? Well we did one better and made water buckets out of ice for the horses.. aren't they spoiled? **No horses were harmed in the making of this "ice" bucket. They get nice fresh warm water in insulated buckets in their stalls and warm water in their outdoor water buckets every morning and more if needed... So they are on fact spoiled... We are currently working on DIYing an insulated outdoor bucket. There is no electric to the barn.. Soo most water heaters are out. Any ideas that have worked for anyone?

All has been quiet on the farm front.. well except for errant male deer bellowing like dieing cow and giving my horses panic attacks.. Anyhow... We hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving, whether virtual or in person, surrounded by loved ones. There is much to be Thankful for this year sometimes it takes world pandemics to make you realize everything that is good and whole in your life. ... We have had a few snow storms but nothing that has stuck around and personally I am not ready so refused to take pictures even though it was beautiful The kids are still in school in person and virtual for now thank goodness. Due to work related stuff our Thanksgiving has been postponed to December.. so much for that big fresh turkey. Now it will be a frozen fresh turkey for a few weeks. No matter the day, we will celebrate when we can and enjoy turkey and decorate the tree. Speaking of trees..... Our 9' tree is up already. I am normally not into decorating this early but it this year is definitely different and it is great that everyone in the house wants to celebrate and be festive! When all the decorations are finished I will post some pictures. Still a work in progress. In the meantime here are a few pics for your enjoyment. Get outside and enjoy this balmy weather !
