Opportunity for SPH students to take FREE online Food as Medicine Course! On behalf of the SUNY Downstate Lifestyle Medicine Interest Group, we are reaching out to assess your interest in an exciting, unique, and completely free opportunity to learn about Food as Medicine in managing chronic disease. This online course, which you can take whenever fits your schedule (asynchronous learning), provides 6-7 hours of practical education from cutting-edge sources using an interacti...ve webinar format. Funding for this initiative has been generously provided through the office of Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, who is a staunch advocate of healthy eating for promoting longevity and managing chronic disease (diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, cerebrovascular disease, obesity, and others). You will receive a certificate of completion upon finishing the course and there may also be a recognition webinar featuring Eric Adams. After the course, we will also offer the option of participating in a hosted and moderated webinar to showcase your insights gained from the courses and to inspire your peers and colleagues. Registration is limited by available funding, so be sure to sign up early to guarantee your participation. If you are interested in the course, please email Dr. Helzner ([email protected]) and she will add you to the list. SPH students will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. #publichealth #food #medicine #lifestyle #freecourse #healthyeating

Dr. Anthony Fauci is the most trusted voice in this country when it comes to fighting #covid19 and he understands the devastating impact of the #pandemic on com...munities of color. His history fighting infectious diseases is long and he was even on Arthur Ashe’s short list of doctors to call when he was seeking information about HIV/AIDS, the disease that would eventually claim his life. We are proud to have #DrAnthonyFauci speaking as our Keynote Honoree at this year’s 26th annual Sportsball Gala streaming on October 14th/7pm EST! Visit here https://ashe.afrogs.org/#/index to bid in our silent auction & watch the show on the 14th. Visit our website https://www.arthurasheinstitute.org to find out how we’re increasing the number of healthcare professionals of color with our Health Science Academy and supporting underserved communities get the health resources they need to sustain life.
